The American Society for Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) has appointed Professor Edmund Henneke as the new Editor-in-Chief for Research in Nondestructive Evaluation.
Henneke joined the staff of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VPI&SU) as an assistant professor in 1971. Since 1989, Henneke has served as the head of the Engineering Science and Mechanics Department. Prior to that, he served as an assistant professor at Florida State University and a junior-instructor at Johns Hopkins University.
He has worked in a variety of industrial roles, including as a research associate at NASA-Langley Research Center and as a mechanical engineer for the US Naval Ship Research and Development Center.
ASNT is a technical society for nondestructive testing (NDT) professionals. Through its organization and membership, it provides a forum for exchange of NDT technical information; NDT educational materials and programs; and standards and services for the qualification and certification of NDT personnel. ASNT promotes the discipline of NDT as a profession.
Orbital Imaging Corp., (ORBIMAGE), an affiliate of Orbital Sciences Corp. and a leading global provider of satellite-delivered Earth imagery products and services, has named Timothy J. Puckorius vice president for international business development.
Puckorius will be primarily responsible for expanding ORBIMAGE's international network of strategic partnerships for the reception, production and distribution of ORBIMAGE's broad portfolio of satellite-derived imagery products and services. Puckorius has extensive international experience in the commercialization of satellite remote sensing programs.
Since joining ORBIMAGE in April 1998, Puckorius has held the position of senior director, international marketing. He has been instrumental in securing many of ORBIMAGE's international strategic agreements, including Samsung Aerospace in Korea and NTT Data Corp. for Japan.
Prior to joining ORBIMAGE, Puckorius worked for over 12 years with the Earth Observation Satellite Co. (EOSAT). While at EOSAT, Puckorius was directly involved in marketing the U.S. Landsat Satellite Program and was the principal architect in securing the company's exclusive ten-year agreement with the Indian Space Research Organization to commercialize their constellation of remote sensing satellites.

Bettis Corp., Waller, Tex., has named Wilfred M. Krenek president. Krenek was most recently vice president and chief financial officer at the Daniel Measurement and Control Div. of Emerson Electric Co. He had been previously associated with Bettis as its vice president, chief financial officer, secretary and treasurer from 1994-1997. Additionally, he was vice president and controller for Galveston-Houston Co., a former parent company of Bettis. Krenek has more than 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry.
Bettis Corp., a business unit of Emerson Electric Co., manufactures valve actuators and control systems used worldwide for the automation of valves in numerous energy and industrial markets.
Weatherford International, Inc., Houston, Tex., has appointed two new senior vice presidents to its executive management team: Mark Hopmann and Gary Warren.
Hopmann, who previously served as division vice president of Weatherford's Completion Systems, is now president of that division. Warren, the former vice president for Europe, West Africa and CIS, has assumed the role of president for Weatherford's Drilling and Intervention Services division.
Warren has 27 years of experience in the oilfield industry. He began his career in 1972 with BJ Oil Tools as metallurgical engineer, and joined Petco Fishing and Rental Tool in 1980, where he served in various management positions in sales and operations. He joined Weatherford when the company merged with Petco in 1992, and has served in several vice president capacities, each with increasing responsibilities.
Hopmann joined Weatherford in 1998 as a product line manager. Six months later, he was promoted to vice president of Completion Products and Services. Prior to joining Weatherford, Hopmann worked for Baker Hughes, where he worked for 18 years in both engineering and marketing positions across several product lines. Hopmann last served as product line director for Baker's Completion Systems Group.
Universal Ensco, Inc., Houston, Tex., has named Robert E. McFadden president. Wiley Hatcher, the founder and former president of Universal Ensco, Inc., will remain as chairman of the board and chief financial officer.
McFadden has been with the firm for 18 years. Prior to assuming the position of president, he was a vice president, member of the board of directors, project director and manager of a projects business unit. McFadden has also led the successful effort in developing the international market for Universal during the past few years.
