has acquired Calgary-based Ulterra Geoscience, Ltd and GeoScope Exploration Technologies, Inc., and merged with Houston-based Exploration Specialty Processing.
Ulterra Geoscience, established in 1992, provides geophysical research and product development, focused on rock/fluid interpretation technology. Ulterra's products have been marketed by GeoScope Exploration Technologies since 1998. Exploration Specialty Processing has been providing advanced processing, inversion, and AVO modeling services for the Houston oil and gas industry since 1996,
eSeis will continue to deliver its products and services via the Internet, using GeoWebTM thin-client technology, allowing remote access for calibration and delivery of seismic data.
eSeis' officers include Shawn Porche (CEO) and Roger Young (CTO), formerly CEO and CTO of Exploration Specialty Processing, Dan Morris (president) and Devon Dowell (COO) most recently president and vice president of Coherence Techno1ogy Co. Houston, Tex., has named Drew Michel vice president of deepwater development. Michel will oversee the company's Deepwater Development team in the expansion of Global's worldwide deepwater market. Michel will also assume responsibility for the company's remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services and continue to oversee its information technology function. The position is based in Houston, Tex.
Michel joined Global Industries in late 1995 as vice president of Deepwater Technology. He has more than 33 years of experience in the marine construction industry, leading provider of remote underwater intervention consulting services to the offshore oil and gas industry. Michel joined Global Industries with the company's acquisition of ROV Technologies.
Nicolas A. Alvarado has been named vice president of worldwide business development. Alvarado will oversee both the international and domestic business development functions of the company and the expansion of the company's services into developing markets around the world. The position is based in Houston.
Alvarado previously served as general manager for Chevron in Venezuela. He has 30 years of experience in various domestic and international management positions with Chevron, including more than 15 years resident experience in Venezuela, Australia, Canada, Indonesia, and Europe. Alvarado also has extensive experience in project development and the start-up of business ventures.
Global Industries provides pipeline construction, platform installation and removal, and diving services to the oil and gas industry in the deepwater and shallow-water areas of the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East/India, South America, and Mexico's Bay of Campeche.

Aberdeen, Scotland, has named David Harris business development manager for The Americas Region.
Harris oversees all BJ Tubular Services business development activities in North and South America, with a primary emphasis on cultivating long-term business relationships in Latin America.
Prior to joining BJ Tubular Services, Harris was employed by Weatherford International for 19 years. His most recent position with Weatherford was international operations manager for the well installation services division. Harris's oilfield service career with Weatherford saw him work in a number of management capacities, including roles in sales and marketing.
BJ Tubular Services specialises in personnel and equipment for running casing and tubing, particularly premium connections, high chrome content tubulars, dual, triple and sub-sea completions, as well as hammer conductor driving services.

AB Sandvik Steel
has announced that Lars Pettersson, currently president of the Sandvik Tooling business area and president of Sandvik Coromant, has been named president of Sandvik Steel.He has also been named executive vice president of the Sandvik Group.
Pettersson succeeds Ola Rollen who is leaving the Sandvik Group for family reasons and to take up a post of president of the Hexagon Group in Stockholm.
Pettersson has worked in the Sandvik Group since 1978. He joined the Sandvik Steel Research Centre before moving to AB Sandvik Coromant, first as development engineer and subsequently development manager for turning tools. In 1988, he was named executive vice president marketing and technology at AB Sandvik Coromant in New Jersey, before returning to Sweden in 1991 as executive vice president, production and logistics, also at AB Sandvik Coromant. He was named president of AB Sandvik Coromant in 1994 and president of Sandvik Tooling in 1999.
