Mass flowmeter, controller web site

A new web site describes a line of mass flowmeters and controllers. The new Mass Flow Solutions section allows visitors to search by application, fluid, or industry type for answers to flow measurement problems. The Solutions pages describe installations and the results achieved through accurate mass flow measurement.

The company says its site is easy to navigate and provides detailed specifications and installation diagrams of mass flowmeters, which can be viewed online or downloaded as PDF files.

The web address is www.sierrainstruments.com

New flexible polyurea coating

Iraseal 200 is a 100% solids, sprayable polyurea coating system that provides hydrolytic stability in long-term immersion conditions and resistance to moderately concentrated acid and alkali slurries and aqueous solutions. It offers resiliency, physical strength (tensile strength 3,000 psi), and resistance to punctures, abrasion, UV, and weathering in a variety of oil field conditions.

Its elongation and flexibility help suit it for sealing and protecting concrete and other substrates prone to cracking and movement. Capable of elongation to 450%, it is unaffected by flexing, vibration, impact, and thermal cycling, the company points out. Iraseal 200 produces a smooth, seamless surface that will not hamper the flow of materials, is easy to clean, and provides passive resistance to organic marine growth.

The spray-applied, two-component system bonds to all common substrates and, in many cases, can be applied directly to the substrate without the use of primers or sealers. Mixed as it is sprayed, the coating eliminates waste, and it coats large surfaces quickly, the company says. It is a thixotropic formulation that can be used on vertical or overhead surfaces without running or sagging. The coating can be put in light-duty service after 2 hr cure.

Tow system for marine geophysical surveys

A new brochure, yours free for the request, introduces a second generation deep tow system for marine geophysical surveys.

The new DT3500 can be used in water depths to 3,500 m. This is an enhancement of bottom-referencing survey systems, the company notes.

The survey system collects side scan sonar, swath bathymetry, and subbottom profiler data. The system surveys faults, steep slopes, hard bottom, fluid expulsion features, chemosynthetic communities, and other hazards.

New molecular sieves

New Siliporite second generation molecular sieves promise good performance in petrochemical and gas processing operations.

SPX3OOO molecular sieves are suited for use in xylene separation for the production of paraxylene.

Also developments conducted in partnership with industrial gas producers have led to the launch of a range of products for vacuum pressure swing adsorption processes such as the noncryogenic separation of gases from air to produce oxygen for industry uses. These products are Siliporite G5000, G5LB6, and Nitroxy 51 and 5. Another specialty product, Siliporite NK20, may be used for the purification of hydrogen by the pressure swing adsorption process.

New refined product sampling system

A new series of samplers is designed for safe and efficient handling of large volumes used in refined products metering.

Samplers in the SSO-9 stand up to uninterrupted use and harsh environments, the company says. They are pneumatically operated and electronically actuated, with heavy-duty seals for long and trouble-free life.

Suited for metering gasoline, fuel oil, jet or diesel fuel, and AV gas, the new systems help ensure representative and repeatable samples at every point of transfer, the firm notes. Blended products can be verified on-line eliminating the need for tank blending or tank sampling. Further, in-line blending can be accomplished directly in the pipeline while maintaining RVP requirements and product purity.

Available sample sizes are 5 cc through 300 cc. All wetted parts are made from 316 stainless steel. Constant pressure receiver cylinders are available from 1 gal to 10 gal.
