New ANSI Class knife gate valves withstand high pressures and abrasive slurries met in oil sands processing and chemical operations. Suited for isolation in high-pressure, high-density slurry lines, the valves are pressure rated to ANSI Class 150 and 300.

Available in sizes of 6-36 in., the valves feature cast carbon steel construction to meet demanding performance requirements. Valves feature purge-ports to allow flushing of media from the valve interior. ANSI Class 150 valves match standard pipe IDs, and ANSI Class 300 valves match extra-strong pipe IDs. The seat/wear ring matches the pipeline ID to reduce turbulence and pressure loss across the valve. A variety of hardened trim options is available on the gate, seat, and wear ring.

An integral bonnet is standard on ANSI Class 300 valves. To reduce maintenance costs, a pressure-energized rod seal and heavy-duty braided scraper ring are replaceable without removing the bonnet or rod.

3D drilling, reservoir system

Newly released version RESolution 3D is a real-time 3D drilling and reservoir solution system to aid the drilling decision-making process by enabling real-time visualization and updating of earth models in rig and office settings.

Real-time drilling information can be placed in the interpretation and in the planning environment as soon as it is acquired to enhance decision-making among asset team members. The same information is available at the rig in an integrated NT-based visualization system, complete with the interpreted earth model and adjacent well data. This integrated system facilitates fast, informed decisions in drilling current well and in planning future wells, the company says.

The INSITE rig information system is used to acquire and manage real-time drilling data at the rig site. These data are linked to the OpenWorks integrated project data management system, now running on UNIX and Windows NT operating Systems.

The RESolution 3D system populates real-time drilling information as it is obtained directly in to the OpenWorks at the rig or in the office. Real-time data can now be obtained immediately within the applications with which the wells were planned, such as SeisWorks, EarthCube, Stratamodel, Wellbore Planner, and PetroWorks.

Well-performance monitor uses internet

MyWells.com is on the market, available to monitor well performance using internet access.

The new method is part of a new generation of software that provides access to wellsite information. It is designed to speed reaction time. MyWells.com uses satellite communications to link users with a range of drilling parameters. In addition to real time drilling data, thenew software provides daily reports; detailed performance summaries for the rig, well, or area; drilling instrumentation logs; and daily mud logs that the driller or company man would normally see only on location. It also provides querying capabilities, which help enhance engineering prognosis. Rather than simply supplying a graphical image of the data, the wellsite data base is available to the end user for integration into in-house or third-party geophysical, geological, and drilling software.

These new Kee Klamp staircase fittings are designed for staircase railing construction. The two new fittings feature adjustable angles, eliminating the need for pipe bending and welding.

Fittings are malleable cast iron slip-on pipe designed for use with standard Schedule 40 or 80 pipe (1/2 to 2 in.). Equipped with case-hardened set screws, the fittings are galvanized at 2 oz/sq ft, suiting them for indoor or outdoor use.

According to the company, the new Type 55-8 and 56-8 staircase fittings feature adjustable angles of 30-45° and are compatible with an entire line of slip-on railing clamps to create a total stair rail system.
