A wholly-owned subsidiary of Halliburton Co. - has completed the purchase of the remaining 50 percent shares of Niigata Masoneilan Co., Ltd. (NIMCO) from Niigata Engineering Co., Ltd. (NEC).

Dresser Industries, Inc.,

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Halliburton Co. - has completed the purchase of the remaining 50 percent shares of Niigata Masoneilan Co., Ltd. (NIMCO) from Niigata Engineering Co., Ltd. (NEC). NIMCO has been a joint venture company of Dresser and NEC since 1974. NIMCO will be managed by the Dresser Valve Division of the Dresser Equipment Group, a business segment of Halliburton. Headquartered in Chiba, Japan, NIMCO manufactures and sells Masoneilan automatic control equipment, including control valves, regulators, levels, and instrumentation. Major industries served include oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, chemical, and power. NIMCO products and services are currently used all over the world.

NIMCO has sales offices all over Japan with the main office in Chiba, a suburb of Tokyo. The manufacturing plant is located northwest of Tokyo in Kariwa. The company has research and development, and engineering capabilities at that location.

Dresser Equipment Group, headquartered in Carrollton, Tex., provides equipment and services for all phases of the energy industry. Products include valves, instruments, engines, fuel dispensers, and gas meters.

Halliburton Company is a diversified energy services, engineering, energy equipment, construction and maintenance company.

has named Chuck Alexander, a leading offshore expert with 26 years of industry experience, to manager of its Deepwater Center of Excellence. The center is a global cooperative effort with the exploration and production (E&P) industry focused on identifying and developing cost effective, best-in-class solutions to meet challenges in deepwater.

Alexander began his oilfield industry career in 1974 as an engineer with Santa Fe Engineering Services. The following year he was working in the North Sea's Thistle Field in offshore/subsea engineering and construction management.

In 1980, Alexander joined Mobil Oil Corp. as engineering manager for design and construction of the Beryl-B Tanker Loading Platform in the North Sea. He went on to work as group leader in Mobil's deepwater technology development. In 1995, he was project manager and, later, subsea manager in Equatorial Guinea for the corporation's first operated floating/subsea development.

The Schlumberger Deepwater Center of Excellence was formed more than two years ago in New Orleans to identify deepwater technology gaps and to develop solutions for Schlumberger customers. The Center has already identified, developed and applied deepwater solutions such as pore pressure prediction technology and multiplex control systems for ultra deepwater operations. Schlumberger recently relocated the Center to Houston, Tex.

Schlumberger Oilfield Services, a business segment of Schlumberger Limited, is a supplier of services and technology to the international petroleum industry, operating offices, service locations, and research and development facilities around the world. Schlumberger is a provider of technical services spanning the oil and gas, utility, semiconductor, smart cards, network and Internet solutions industries.

Global Marine,

Houston, Tex., has named Thomas R. Johnson senior vice president and chief administrative officer and Douglas C. Stegall vice president and controller.

Johnson was previously the company's vice president and corporate controller. Johnson joined Global Marine Inc. in 1980 as senior internal auditor and held the positions of audit manager and manager of financial reporting before being named corporate controller in 1988 and vice president in 1989. Prior to joining Global Marine, Johnson was audit manager for the Chicago & North Western Railroad and has also held various accounting positions with the state of Texas.

Stegall was named vice president and controller to succeed Johnson. Stegall joined Global Marine as rig accounting manager in 1979 and was promoted to controller of Global Marine Drilling Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary, in 1984. In 1986 he was promoted to vice president and controller for Global Marine Drilling Co. Before joining Global Marine, Stegall served in various accounting positions at Drilling Tools, Inc., Storm Drilling, Marine Inc., and Diamond M Drilling Co.

Global Marine is an offshore drilling contractor with an active fleet of 31 mobile rigs worldwide plus two new drillships under construction. In addition, the company is a provider of offshore drilling management services. employing approximately 8 to 12 additional rigs.

Millennium Petrochemicals Inc.

has named John Wilson director, international business. Wilson is responsible for increasing Millennium's presence in the global petrochemical market.

Wilson joins the company after 18 years with Gantrade Corp., where he recently held positions including vice president of sales and marketing and managing director of Gantrade Europe.

Millennium Petrochemicals is a producer of acetic acid and vinyl acetate monomer and an acetyls producer. Millennium is also a US producer of methanol. Millennium Petrochemicals' headquarters and research operations are in Cincinnati, Ohio, with manufacturing facilities in LaPorte, Tex.

Aker Maritime, Inc.

Houston, Tex., has named Jim O'Sullivan senior vice president of Alternative Deepwater Business Solutions. He will focus on Aker Maritime's new business for leasing floating production systems. Major and independent oil companies can use leased systems to economically produce deepwater discoveries with estimated reserves too small to warrant the purchase of dedicated surface facilities.

O'Sullivan was previously with Halliburton where he was director of deepwater technology for Brown & Root and has previously served as a director of Halliburton Energy Development.
