Houston, Tex., a global Internet marketplace for petroleum services and equipment, has named John H. Keast chief information officer. Keast will lead the NetworkOil technology and e-commerce operations groups in developing and implementing the company's information technology (IT) strategy and executing the core marketplace operational business processes.

Keast has 25 years of technology and leadership experience, gained at Branders.com, PG&E Corp., Claris (now Filemaker Inc.), DHL Worldwide Express and other companies.

Keast has also served as vice president and corporate chief information officer for PG&E Corp., a major energy-based holding company and one of the largest investor-owned gas and electric utilities.

Networkoil is the premier, global Internet marketplace for petroleum services and new and used equipment. The electronic exchange provides a secure, neutral forum for conducting a variety of transactions including requests for bid, auctions and reverse auctions.

GeoQuest,

an operating unit of Schlumberger Oilfield Services, has announced the launch of its LiveQuest application service provider solution in Calgary, Canada. From the GeoQuest Calgary data management center, clients now have access to exploration, production, and economic and risk analysis software offered by Geo Quest and Merak served via the Web.

LiveQuest offers users remote access to the full-featured GeoQuest applications without downloading the software to the user's workstation or PC, whether running Unixy, Linuxy'y' or WindowsY operating systems. This remote delivery of software solutions can significantly decrease corporate IT costs, particularly by reducing hardware and administrative requirements.

The GeoQuest applications available through LiveQuest are the GeoFrameRegistered reservoir characterization system, BCLIPSB* reservoir simulation applications and the Drilling Office* suite of PC-based drilling applications. Access to the GeoQuest FinderRegistered data management system has been available since the launch of the GeoQuest PowerHouse* service in 1997. Network access to the Merak economics and production software, including Peep Online**, PetroDesk Online** and FieldView Online*, has been available since February of this year.

Parker Drilling Co.

has announced that Quail Tools has further expanded its oilfield rental tool business by opening a facility in Odessa, Tex. Quail Tools, a subsidiary of Parker Drilling Co., is based in New Iberia, La.

Quail rents specialized drilling tools such as blowout preventers, drill pipe, and specialized drill strings to operators of oil and gas wells in the onshore and offshore markets in the Gulf of Mexico region. Quail had previously expanded its gulf coast operation to Victoria, Tex., in 1997. The Odessa facility will extend Quail's rental tool services to oil and gas operations in West Texas.

David Blair, a 21-year veteran with Quail, has been named general manager of the new location.

Parker is a Tulsa-based energy company specializing in barge and offshore drilling and workover services, international land drilling, and specialized oil tool rentals.

Foster Wheeler Italiana, S.p.A.,

has named Giuseppe Bonadies chairman.

Bonadies is executive vice president of Foster Wheeler International and vice chairman of Foster Wheeler Continental Europe and he will continue in this role. His last office, before returning to Milan in October 1999, was president and CEO of Foster Wheeler France in Paris.

Bonadius succeeds Claudia Ferrari who has retired from the company. Ferrari, who held this position since 1982, returned to Italy in the fall of 1999 after a three-year assignment to Foster Wheeler Corp. in Clinton, where he was also senior vice president of the company's Power Systems Group.

Wailer, Tex., has announced that Joe Kelly has rejoined the company as vice president of sales-Eastern Hemisphere. Kelly had been sales and marketing manager at the company's Bettis UK subsidiary from 1990-1994. Most recently he had been director of international sales for the KF Group. Kelly will be based at the company's Bettis UK facility in Fareham, England.
