The New WJAF hammer union pressure transducer is designed specifically for use with 1502 and 2202, 2 in. wing unions in onshore and offshore drilling installations. Typical high-pressure applications include mud logging, cementing, drilling, fracturing, acidizing, and other wellhead measurements.

The WJAF is available in ranges of 0-5,000 to 0-20,000 psi. Standard output is 4-20 ma (two wire) with a supply voltage of 9-28 v dc, and the unit is RFI/ EMI protected. Operating temperature is -45° to +200° F.

The all-welded unit uses a proprietary deep penetration weld process to help ensure hermetic integrity and enhanced resistance to vibration and shock. The isolated pressure sensing diaphragm minimizes zero shift during installation and eliminates long-term signal drift.

This unit is constructed from Inconel X-750 for service with highly abrasive and corrosive media and complies with NACE standard MR-01-75 (1980). It is intrinsically safe with approvals from CSA, CENELEC, FM, and CE. DNV approval is also available.

New choke valve

Here's a new severe service choke valve for production operations. The new unit uses a combination of DRAG velocity control technology and advanced materials to provide long trim life and precise process control, the company points out.

Its design is also suited for separator level control. The choke valve trim is made from tungsten carbide, and is multistaged so that cavitation is prevented.

Fluid velocities within the trim of the unit are typically one third to one fourth that of conventional single stage chokes, the company says. Velocity control protects the trim from erosion and increases trim life.

Free CD-ROM covers process analyzers for sulfur recovery

A new CD-ROM, offered free for the asking, offers a seminar on sulfur recovery and process analyzer technology.

The PC-compatible compact disk serves as a complete tutorial of the Claus sulfur recovery process. It provides more than 4 hr of technical discussion on the intricacies of the Claus sulfur recovery process, enhanced Claus processes, and applications. The CD also contains detailed application notes and specifications for 18 analyzers and a Q&A tool that quickly pinpoints critical application issues and identifies an analyzer solution. It is suited for helping train new process engineers, plant operations staff, and instrument maintenance personnel.

Integrated cartridge seal system

Positive sealing of ANSI, process, and general service pumps is provided by a new integrated cartridge system.

The firm's cartridge seal designs have been re-engineered into a cohesive product line with interchangeable parts, enhanced designed features, improved repair capabilities without increasing prices on some styles, and lower prices on others.

The redesign enhances and fully integrates Styles 34, 37, 50, 57, 35, and 33 with interchangeable parts, including sleeves, glands, and collars. All are available with circulation, vent and drain gland options.

These styles provide sealing needs for most general applications (metric sizes are available) without modification:

  • Style 34 (single bellows) fits standard ANSI pumps, is hydraulically balanced, and maximizes face alignment. It offers upgradeable faces, metallurgies, and elastomers.
  • Style 37 (stationary single spring cartridge) fits all standard ANSI pumps, and is hydraulically balanced. Its "uncloggable" design features a balanced cartridge with rugged construction.
  • Styles 50 (welded bellows) and 57 (single spring) incorporate interchangeable parts. They fit all standard ANSI pumps. A range of metallurgies, gland designs is available.
  • Style 33 (welded bellows) and Style 35 (multiple springs) are suited for corrosive applications.

In addition to the company's integrated cartridges, it offers single and double cartridges, rotating or stationary seal high temperature welded bellows assemblies, double/tandem cartridges, fully split cartridges, dual cartridge configurations, and Interseal, which is a cartridge slurry seal.
