Mooring brochure

A new, free for the asking 16 page color brochure describes the use of a hydraulic linear chain jack system for mooring the Genesis Spar in 2,607 ft of water in the Gulf of Mexico's Green Canyon Block 205.

Closeup photographs show the chain jack assemblies and their latching action in operation on the spar. The brochure details how the mooring system controls the 14 taut catenary mooring lines used for basic station keeping and spar movement between the 20 well locations whenever workover and other well support tasks are performed.

Also presented is an overview of the entire Genesis Spar project-including project history, facts and figures, photos, development strategy, and descriptions of project contractor/supplier roles.

Ball valve brochure

Free ball valve Brochure No. RFP-100 features the McCannaseal top entry wedge seated ball valve. These regular and full port valves for severe service offer fast, easy, in-line service, and leaktight closure.

All working parts are accessible for service while the body is fixed in the line.

The wedge-seat design allows a range of seat materials. Self-adjusting ball and seats help ensure leaktight closure under all operating conditions and valve orientations.

Offering soft (plastics) and full ceramic seats, the McCannaseal is capable of handling temperatures of -350° F. to +1,500° F.

The brochure outlines options for automation as well as special configurations for cryogenic, chlorine, steam, thermal fluid, LPG, and fire-safe service.

Two new compact purge systems are available for upstream and downstream operations.

The Mini-Z-Purge for Class I & II Division 2 and Mini-Y-Purge for Division 1 explosive atmospheres are available in either back plate or panel mount configurations. The L-shaped back plate system requires four fixing holes and a small cutout to mount onto the purged enclosure. One cutout in the purged panel is all that is needed to secure the panel mount system.

Automatic emissivity measuring IR thermometer

Here's the Pyrofiber, dual temperature range, noncontact, automatic emissivity correcting, infrared thermometer specially designed to measure dynamic temperatures of 250°-3,000° C.

The DTR's microprocessor control toggles seamlessly between two discrete electronic circuits to accomplish this task.

Radiance and emissivity values are measured separately utilizing one circuit at 1.550

The thermometer provides the user with complete temperature measurement information. Target temperature, true target temperature (automatically corrected for emissivity), and emissivity values can be output via analog or digital signal to a PLC, PC, or network main frame for process control or analysis. The software is flexible, allowing this unit to be incorporated into a variety of lab and industry temperature measurement uses.

New geologic software

SmartSECTION 4.5 is a client-server version of the productivity-enhancing smartSECTION geologic software.

SmartSECTION 4.5, which has an Oracle data base, extends the data base flexibility of smartSECTION and helps increase productivity across the entire organization by allowing users to share data and interpretations across their network.

The open architecture of Oracle supports data sharing with other open architecture data bases (e.g., Openworks and Finder). This allows companies to link smartSECTION directly to any corporate data base using Oracle triggers and stored procedures, or the open data base connection standard (for desktop applications like MS Access or Excel, and non-Oracle data bases and tools).

Multiple users will be able to optionally view other users' tops, interval data, and interwell interpretations. At the same time, each user has the ability to lock their data so it cannot be edited or changed by another user.
