The Institute of Gas Technology (IGT), Des Plaines, Ill., has named Dr. Robert Stokes senior vice president, research.

The Institute of Gas Technology (IGT), Des Plaines, Ill., has named Dr. Robert Stokes senior vice president, research. As head of IGT's Research Division, Dr. Stokes will be responsible for R&D in support of gas industry operations and gas processing as well as a broad spectrum of R&D in biotechnology, combustion, electrochemistry, and engineering and energy systems analysis for government and industry clients.

Before joining IGT, Dr. Stokes was vice president, environment and energy, at Southern Research Institute, where he directed R&D activities that involved mainly fossil fuel utilization and pollution control. The division operated an Environmental Technology Verification Center on greenhouse gas reduction for the EPA. From 1988 to 1995, Dr. Stokes was deputy director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where he was responsible for all NREL's research programs for the U.S. Department of Energy. From 1990 to 1995 he concurrently served as a vice president of Midwest Research Institute, the operating contractor for NREL. Prior to that, he worked for 16 years in a number of management positions at Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratories. From 1968 to 1972, Dr. Stokes was a member of the physics and astronomy faculty of the University of Kentucky.

CECAM, a special high level committee, responsible for promoting the CAMISEA Project of Peru, has named Julio M. Jimeno U.S. representative.

CAMISEA is home to one of the most important undeveloped non-associated natural gas reserves ever discovered in Latin America. The aim is to keep close coordination between CECAM and interested companies in the U.S.

Jimeno is vice president of business development of Houston Geoscan, Inc.

The Oil & Gas Asset Clearinghouse, Inc., Houston, Tex., has named Richard D. Griffis senior vice president-transaction services.

The Clearinghouse has significantly expanded the marketing of producing oil and gas properties through the "hybrid" auction process. Griffis will handle The Clearinghouse's expansion into the realm of negotiated sales.

Griffis has seventeen years of industry experience. Most recently, he served as vice president, projects at a leading transaction services firm.
