The Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association has announced that due to changes within the Association's Executive Committee, Peter D. Kinnear (FMC Corp.) has moved up to the position of chairman for the 1999-2000 term. PESA officers for the coming year are: Peter D. Kinnear (FMC Corp.). chairman; Dwight E. Beach Jr. (The Flexitallic Group, Inc.), vice chairman; Rhys J. Best (Lone Star Technologies, Inc.), first vice president; Loren K. Carroll (M-I-L.L.C.), treasurer; and Wayne Richards, (Schlumberger Oilfield Services), secretary.
Kinnear was named division president of FMC Corp. Petroleum Equipment and Systems Div., Houston, Tex., in April 1992. He joined FMC at its Chicago headquarters in June, 1971, as a business planner and became division president of the Fluid Control Div. in 1985. In 1990, he assumed management responsibility for both the Western Hemisphere and Subsea Systems. He is a member of PESA's Board of Directors and served last year as PESA secretary.
Beach was named this year to his current position as president and COO of The Flexitallic Group, Inc. Prior to that, he served as president of Houston Engineers, Inc. from 1981. He is a member of PESA's Board of Directors and has served as PESA treasurer for the past two years.
Best is chairman, president and CEO of Lone Star Technologies, Inc. He was president and CEO of Lone Star Steel Co., Technologies' principal operating subsidiary, from 1989 until he was promoted to president and COO of Technologies in August of 1997. Best is a PESA director and has served as chairman of the Association's Southern Mid-Continent district for the past four terms.
Carroll is president and chief executive officer of M-I-L.L.C., a drilling fluid and equipment supplier. He is also executive vice president and a director of Smith International, Inc. He has been associated with the oil service industry for the past 22 years. Carroll is a member of PESA's Board of Directors and several other industry professional organizations.
Richards is vice president and general manager of Schlumberger Oilfield Services, U.S. Land Division. He has been employed by Schlumberger for 18 years.
PESA district chairmen for the coming year are Craig Ketchum (Red Man Pipe & Supply Co.) Eastern North Mid-Continent District; Randy Stilley (Weatherford U.S. LP) Gulf Coast District/Louisiana; Sheldon Erikson (Cooper Cameron Corp.) Gulf Coast District/Texas, and Howard Hughes (Oil States Industries) Southern Mid-Continent District Chairman.
Schlumberger, Houston, Tex., has completed the reorganization of its Oilfield Services business segment. The eight Schlumberger product lines have been restructured into thirteen business segments, charged with developing and supporting the products and services delivered to customers by the Geomarket organization. To further exploit the synergy and to develop innovative solutions for the industry, these thirteen segments are grouped into three Product Groups. The three groups are named: Reservoir Development, which includes Anadrill, Camco Products & Services, Dowell, Reda, Reed-Hycalog and Testing; Reservoir Management, which includes GeoQuest, Holditch-Reservoir Technologies, Integrated Project Management, Production Operators International and Production Systems; and Reservoir Evaluation, which includes Geco-Prakla and Wireline.
Management of these groups has also been announced, with four presidents reporting to Andrew Gould, executive vice president, Schlumberger Oilfield Services: Rene Huck, president, Reservoir Development, located in Houston; Peter Goode, president, Reservoir Management, located in Houston; Mario Ruscev, president, Reservoir Evaluation Seismic, located in Gatwick; Adil Toubia, president, Reservoir Evaluation Wireline, located in Montrouge.

Petronews S.A., a new company in the field of petroleum exploration and production data, has been set up in Geneva. The founders are Michael Godel, a senior geologist, Amin Mirabdolbaghi, a manager, and G?rard Mangold, an experienced administrative manager. The 3 persons are members of the board of directors, supervised by Godel.
Petronews will concentrate its activities in the exploration-production information and consulting business. The information is obtained via local correspondents, state organizations and direct contacts with oil companies. The data are classified, checked and computerized before being sent to customers online. Services are daily Scouting Exploration & Production reports, Field analyses, and Consulting reports. Areas to be covered first are CIS/Central Asia, West Africa and South America.
FMC Energy Systems, Houston, Tex., has named John Hrncir director of marketing for the Petroleum Equipment and Systems Division. He has over 25 years of industry experience.
Hrndir was previously with Weatherford International where he held the positions of operations vice president for Europe and Africa and more recently vice president sales and marketing for the Completions and Oilfield Services Div. Prior to joining Weatherford, he was president of Oil Dynamics, Inc. in Tulsa, Okla.
