Siberian field project draws nearer

Dana Petroleum plc, London, has completed a study of field reserves in Sortymskoye oil field in western Siberia and has decided on an export route for oil as a prelude to development. Sortymskoye reservoir is covered by two licenses, in each of which Dana has a 30% interest. Russian partners are Tyumenneftegaz and Obneftegazgeologiya. An independent study of reserves in the East Sortymskoye license area puts estimated proved and probable reserves at 57.3 million bbl of oil, with a further 20 million bbl of possible reserves identified.
