EXCEED TREATY

Both tankers include features that, according to NKK, exceed requirements set by the International Maritime Organization's marine pollution prevention treaty mandating double hulls.

The 300,000 dwt supertanker's double hun extends along its sides and bottom. Additionally, the cargo-oil tanks and ballast tanks are separately arranged to ensure maximum protection against leakage. And the tanks and piping systems are made of corrosion-resistant materials.

The Berge Stavanger has a service speed of 16 kt, among the world's fastest, says NKK.

Additionally, it is 331.5 min overall length, 58 m in moulded breadth, and weighs 160,299 tons.

The vessel draws 22.34 m and has a deadweight of 306,474 metric tons.

Its main engine is an NKK-DU Sulzer 7RTA84M with maximum continuous outut of 35,000 ps X 80 rpm.
