Esso Production Malaysia Inc. has put another construction vessel to work off peninsular Malaysia.

Offshore Pipelines International Ltd. (OPIL) moved in its DB Hercules derrick barge last September and began installation of two drilling/production platforms-C and E-in Esso's Seligi field and the 28 slot B jacket in Esso's Tabu field. Hercules also will install conductors and modules in each field.

OPIL, a unit of Offshore Pipelines Inc. (OPI), Houston, transferred the barge to Malaysia from the Middle East. It is assisting on the Esso contract awarded to TL Offshore Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian joint venture of the Renong Group and OPIL.

Transfer of the Hercules boosts OPI's vessel count to four in Southeast Asia.

Esso earlier hired OPI's DLB 423 derrick/pipelay barge for installation of pipelines and risers off peninsular Malaysia (OGJ, June 22, p. 39).

The projects are to be complete this month.
