SEISMIC VESSELS UPGRADED WITH MORE MODERN EQUIPMENT

MWB GmbH, Bremerhaven, Germany, is converting five seismic vessels to accommodate more modern seismic surveying and processing equipment. The vessels will be supplied with, among other things, additional streamers, winches, compressors, emergency diesel engines, steering-control systems, computers, and board cranes. The modifications generally consist of enlarging a vessel by increasing deck space. The five vessels under modification are the GECO Beta, GECO My, GECO Rho, Solea, and Simon

The five vessels under modification are the GECO Beta, GECO My, GECO Rho, Solea, and Simon Labrador, formerly the Seaway Labrador.

MWB has specialized in constructing and converting seismic vessels for 12 years. It has built four flat water seismic vessels and converted more than 40 deep-sea seismic vessels.
