Amoseas Indonesia Inc. and state owned Pertamina have installed a purpose built floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel off Indonesia in Natuna Sea Block A, about 250 miles northeast of Singapore.

Turnkey contractor for the FPSO Anoa Natuna was Modec Inc., Tokyo, which installed it in Anoa field in 253 ft of water with all utility and accommodations, production equipment, mooring, and offloading systems. Modec's work also covered design, engineering, procurement, and fabrication.

The unit is jointly owned by Mitsui & Co. and Modec, with a marine crew provided by Modec.

Completed on schedule and within budget, it is operating under a time charter to Amoseas.

The FPSO's external turret mooring system is designed to withstand wave heights of 38.9 ft, a current of 2.2 knots, and winds of 49 knots. Its process capacity is 32,000 b/d of oil and 14,000 b/d of water with a 5 MMcfd ground flare capacity.

Modec's other FPSO, Kakap Natuna, has been working for 4 years with no down time on Marathon Petroleum Indonesia Ltd.'s Kakap KH production sharing contract.
