SAMEDAN BUYS GULF OF MEXICO PRODUCTION

Samedan Oil Corp. has expanded its inventory of producing leases in the Gulf of Mexico. The wholly owned subsidiary of Noble Affiliates Inc., Ardmore, Okla., paid undisclosed sums to Marathon Oil Co., Amerada Hess Corp., Louisiana Land & Exploration Co., and Phillips Petroleum Co. for a full working interest in Main Pass 305/306 oil field. Samedan also paid an undisclosed amount of money to Marathon and Amerada Hess for the remaining 62.5% working interest in its High Island A480 lease.

Samedan Oil Corp. has expanded its inventory of producing leases in the Gulf of Mexico.

The wholly owned subsidiary of Noble Affiliates Inc., Ardmore, Okla., paid undisclosed sums to Marathon Oil Co., Amerada Hess Corp., Louisiana Land & Exploration Co., and Phillips Petroleum Co. for a full working interest in Main Pass 305/306 oil field.

Samedan also paid an undisclosed amount of money to Marathon and Amerada Hess for the remaining 62.5% working interest in its High Island A480 lease.

Main Pass 305/306, 50 miles off Louisiana in about 230 ft of water, has six platforms with 81 wells. It is producing about 2,900 b/d of oil and 4 MMcfd of gas net to the interest purchased.

Included in the purchase, which is effective last Dec. 1, is a 90% interest in a 55 mile, 12 in. oil pipeline to shore.

High Island A480, off Texas, is producing about 4 MMcfd of gas.

Its effective purchase date is last Oct. 1.
