DOS gives federal agencies more time for Keystone XL comments

Eight federal agencies preparing comments on the proposed Keystone XL crude oil pipeline project's cross-border permit received additional time, the US Department of State announced. It did not set a new deadline, but emphasized that the agency consultation process will not start over. "Agencies need additional time based on the uncertainty created by the ongoing litigation in the Nebraska Supreme Court, which could ultimately affect the pipeline route in that state," DOS said in its Apr. 18 announcement.
