Can we learn from history? Hindsight gives us an advantage over those who were involved in important policy decisions back then. But the people who were there can still provide significant perspectives that could add authority to current discussions. That's what made the Nixon Legacy Forum's Oct. 19 program, "Responding to the Energy Crisis," at the Center for Strategic and International Studies more than a group of "old hands" getting together to talk about what happened leading up, during, and after the fall of 1973.
