SYSTEM ABSORBS ENGINE ROOM SOUND

New Rockwool marine acoustic foil is part of a sound absorption system specifically designed for engine rooms, cargo pump rooms, and similar applications.

The system provides fire protection and noise reduction in areas where mechanical strength and resistance to oil contamination are required. By using the marine acoustic foil system, the noise absorption of the insulation is not affected.

The company says its marine acoustic foil is a strong, thin, and durable film, which is resistant to oil/oil mist, water, and most other substances expected to be found in an engine room. The film covers the insulation and is then covered by a perforated steel plate. To obtain optimal sound properties, the film must be fitted loosely with a small gap between the film and the insulation.

NEW NONRADIOACTIVE TRACEABLE PROPPANT

CARBONRT is what its maker calls a new, environmentally responsible development in proppant placement. The technology incorporates a taggant that allows downhole, near-wellbore detection of ceramic proppant. CARBONRT assists in determining fracture propagation and geometry in a manner that is designed to optimize stimulation effectiveness and maximize productive capacity.

With this nonradioactive product, there is no half-life deterioration of the detectable properties. The proppant is engineered for extended identification, giving operators the flexibility of conducting postfrac logging months or years after fracturing.

The proprietary tracer can be added to any ceramic proppant in the firm's product line. It is uniformly distributed through each grain of proppant, helping to assure consistent distribution of the traceable marker throughout the fracture zone.

CARBONRT features provide flexibility to conduct proppant detection analysis with standard logging tools for an indefinite period of time.
