Allied Power Group,

Houston, has named Kelly Moore marketing manager. She will oversee all Allied Power marketing initiatives, including brand identity, advertising campaigns, media budgets, tradeshow and conference attendance, online presence, and public relations. Moore started in the gas turbine repair industry 10 years ago. She holds an MBA and has experience as a quality engineer, quality manager, operations manager, and plant manager.

Allied Power offers industrial gas turbine (IGT) owners parts, repairs, and service, including one of the world's largest inventories of GE and Westinghouse components. The company also specializes in the repair of IGT components, including hot gas path and combustion components from GE, Westinghouse, and other leading original equipment manufacturers.

Neptune Marine Services Ltd.,

Perth, has appointed four executives to its senior management team in Australia. Robin King was named regional vice-president for Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea and will be based in Perth. He previously worked for Technip SA, where he served as CEO of Subsea 7 Asia Pacific and senior vice-president, subsea (Asia Pacific), of Technip Oceania. King has 27 years of experience with managerial and developmental positions in the international oil and gas industry. Benoit Barbier was appointed regional vice-president for Asia and the Middle East and will be based in Singapore. He joined Neptune after almost 30 years with Schlumberger, where he held senior roles in business development, marketing, and operations in North America, Asia, and the Middle East and most recently was human resources manager for one of Schlumberger's global activity groups. Lodewijk Van Wachem was named regional vice-president for Europe, the Mediterranean, and West Africa and will be based in Aberdeen. He previously worked for Subsea 7 as operations manager, West Africa, and COO, Brazil. Van Wachem has more than 20 years of engineering, operational, and management experience in the oil and gas sector. Ken Nimitz was appointed regional vice-president, Americas, and will be based in Houston. He joined Neptune after 18 years with Schlumberger, serving in Schlumberger Oilfield Services, Schlumberger Overseas, and Schlumberger Well Services.

Neptune is a provider of engineered solutions to the global oil and gas, marine, and renewable energy industries. Its primary focus is the offshore oil and gas sector, where it offers dynamically positioned construction support vessels; dry underwater welding; subsea and pipeline engineering; offshore asset integrity management; ROV services; hydrographic surveying, positioning, and geophysical services; commercial diving; specialist fabrication; pipeline stabilization and grouting; rope access and platform inspection, repair, and maintenance; and end-to-end project management.

Halliburton,

Houston, has opened a new, multimillion-dollar service complex at Grand Prairie, Alta., to better serve new growth opportunities in the Wild River/Hinton, Montney, and Horn River basins of Canada. The 200,000 sq ft complex includes maintenance facilities, bulk and chemical warehouses, sand storage facilities, a fully functional laboratory, a two-bay automated truck washing building, and parking areas for vehicles and heavy equipment. The facility is the amalgamation of five other facilities.

Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the upstream oil and gas industry, covering the full reservoir lifecycle.

GE Oil & Gas,

Florence, Italy, has opened a new global services facility south of Baku in Azerbaijan to expand its support to oil and gas producers in the Caspian Sea region. The $6 million facility enhances GE's drilling and production equipment repair, maintenance, and refurbishment services capabilities for new and existing customers in the Caspian Sea region. The new facility encompasses two warehouse spaces under a single roof, two heavy-duty overhead cranes, an outside storage area, and office space. A wide range of GE drilling and production equipment will be maintained and repaired at the center, including subsea wellheads, controls, connectors, and subsea trees.

GE Oil & Gas provides advanced technology equipment and services for all segments of the oil and gas industry, from drilling and production, LNG, pipelines, and storage to industrial power generation, refining, and petrochemicals.

Amphora Inc.,

Houston, has relocated its Hyderabad, India, office to accommodate ongoing organizational growth. The company's India office experienced headcount growth of 82% in 2009 and expects another 30% increase in 2010. The Hyderabad office is Amphora's central design, development, and testing arm and hosts Levels 1 and 2 support for both Asia and Europe. The Hyderabad office is also the central hub of Amphora's efforts to launch their next-generation products.

Founded in 1997, Amphora develops enterprise-wide trading and risk management systems and provides web-enabled software specifically designed for companies in the field of hydrocarbon-based commodity trading. Amphora also offers consulting services for commodity trading organizations, including outsourcing, systems integration/selection, and workflow analysis.

Ferguson Modular,

Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, UK, has appointed Bjarte Andreassen business development manager for Norway, as part of a continuing global growth strategy. He previously worked for Smith International AS and has several years of experience in business development within the oil and gas industry. Based at Ferguson's Norwegian division in Stavanger, Andreassen will focus on promoting Ferguson Modular to offshore customers in the region, with a particular focus on its engineering and freezer/chiller products. In addition, parent Ferguson Group is investing £25million in its first accommodation support vessel (ASV). It is currently being outfitted in Scotland and is expected to be available for projects in third quarter 2010. This first vessel of a new ASV division is seen as a logical extension to Ferguson's accommodation and engineering modules fleet.

Ferguson Group is a supplier and manufacturer of offshore accommodation and engineering modules for the global oil and gas industry.

TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co.,

Asker, Norway, has announced Kristian Johansen's official start as CFO. His appointment was announced earlier, but he was prevented from fully engaging with TGS due to commitments with his previous employer. Previously, Johansen was executive vice-president and CFO of EDB Business Partners in Oslo, one of the largest IT groups in the Nordic region. He also has experience in the construction, banking, and oil industries. Johansen has undergraduate and master's degrees in business administration from the University of New Mexico.

Meanwhile, TGS-NOPEC has acquired the directional survey business of P2 Energy Solutions' Tobin business line. The agreement includes the purchase of P2's existing database of over 38,000 high-quality directional surveys and incorporates ongoing client-initiated programs in several key regions. As part of the deal, TGS and P2 signed a separate agreement to share certain well header information in the US.

TGS-NOPEC provides geoscience data products and services to the oil and gas industry. The company designs and acquires multiclient data projects worldwide that make up its data library of seismic, gravity/magnetic, and well data, enhanced by its seismic imaging technology and regional interpretation expertise.

FairfieldNodal,

Sugar Land, Tex., has named Keith Matthews sales director of its systems division. Matthews, who joined FairfieldNodal in 1999, was previously the marketing director for the company's data processing division.

Privately held FairfieldNodal offers a full spectrum of nodal seismic products and services, from systems and acquisitions to nonexclusive seismic data, imaging, and visualization. It features cable-free, seismic data acquisition system manufacturing.

InterMoor,

Houston, has named David Cobb vice-president of business development. With more than 13 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and 11 years at InterMoor, Cobb will be responsible for overseeing InterMoor's global sales, marketing, and business development efforts based out of its Houston office. Cobb previously served as InterMoor's business development manager as well as projects manager for its Aberdeen office. Prior to that, he was an InterMoor project manager for preset mooring projects. He has a master's in ocean engineering from Texas A&M University.

InterMoor is a leading global mooring, foundations, and subsea services company providing solutions for rig moves and mooring services, including engineering and design, survey and positioning, fabrication, and subsea installation. It is part of Acteon, a group of specialist engineering companies serving the global oil and gas industry.

Nautronix Group Ltd.,

Aberdeen, has appointed two new nonexecutive directors: Rodney Eads and Jay Collins. Eads has 35 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas business and is the first senior industry player to join the new Nautronix board following its acquisition by SCF Partners in April. Eads spent most of his career with Exxon Corp., serving 20 years in engineering, planning, and operations management of exploration and production activities. For 13 years, he has served as an executive officer of Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc., including senior vice-president of worldwide operations for 10 years, and most recently worked for Pride International Inc. as executive vice-president and COO for 3 years. Collins also currently serves as president, CEO, and a director of Oceaneering International Inc. He has an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business as well as a BA and a masters in chemical engineering from Rice University. He joined Oceaneering in October 1993, initially serving as senior vice-president and CFO. He followed that with stints as executive vice-president of oil field marine services, president and COO, and then director and CEO.

Nautronix offer acoustic communication and positioning systems to the global offshore industry, including a newly released acoustic system for emergency BOP disconnect and BOP stack monitoring.

McDermott International Inc.,

Houston, has approved the spinoff of its power generation systems and government operations segments through the distribution of shares of Babcock & Wilcox Co. to holders of McDermott common stock. The distribution of B&W common stock was expected to occur on July 30, with McDermott stockholders receiving one share of B&W common stock for every two shares of McDermott common stock held at the close of business on July 9, 2010. Following the spinoff, B&W will be a separate, publicly traded company, and McDermott will not retain any ownership interest in B&W.

B&W designs, engineers, manufactures, and constructs power generation systems, primarily for large utility and industrial customers, as well as related aftermarket parts, services, and environmental control systems.

McDermott is an engineering and construction company focused on the offshore upstream oil and gas market. It provides front-end design and detailed engineering, construction and installation of offshore production facilities, pipelines, and subsea systems.

HitecVision,

Stavanger, has agreed to acquire Tampnet AS from Statoil AS. The transaction is subject to approval from relevant competition authorities and is expected to close in August. Terms weren't disclosed. Tampnet will continue its operations as before, under current management.

Tampnet operates the largest offshore high-capacity communication network in the world. Established by Statoil in 2001, Tampnet has since grown to serve 34 oil and gas fields and carry traffic for over 60 offshore platforms.

Statoil's core business is oil and gas production, but in order to foster new technologies, Statoil sometimes takes ownership of early-stage technologies or businesses to provide funding and stable ownership to facilitate growth.

HitecVision is an equity investment fund that provides capital and competence to growth companies in the energy sector in Europe and North America. It specializes in investing in companies that supply advanced solutions and services to the oil and gas sector, independent oil companies, and traditional oil service businesses.

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services,

Elmwood Park, NJ, has promoted Jeff Smith and Christopher Vitolano to associates. Smith helps lead Langan's environmental practice in Philadelphia, which encompasses Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. A hydrogeologist and expert in RCRA/CERCLA programs, Smith has led investigation/closure strategies under the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Land Recycling Program and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regulatory programs. Vitolano helps lead the firm's site/civil engineering practice in New York City, which includes all five boroughs and Long Island. Vitolano has managed the site planning, engineering design, permitting, and construction of a wide variety of commercial, retail, residential, and institutional development projects throughout New York. His expertise includes urban redevelopment, master planning, utility infrastructure, site assessments, waterfront sites, and sustainable stormwater designs.
Langan also has opened an office in Pittsburgh, its fourth in Pennsylvania, mainly to support exploration and development work in the Marcellus shale. The Pittsburgh team will be led by Gerard Coscia, a senior associate at Langan with 25 years of experience leading major environmental remediation projects for utilities, chemical companies, and brownfield developers.

Founded in 1970, Langan provides integrated site engineering and environmental consulting services for private developers, property owners and public sector clients.

Lufkin Industries Inc.,

Lufkin, Tex., has announced plans to construct a manufacturing plant near Ploiesti, Romania, just north of the capital, Bucharest. This facility is being designed with the objective of manufacturing products for both the company's oil field and power transmission divisions, but with an initial focus on oil field products. The plant is being built on an 82 acre site at an estimated cost of $126 million and is slated to be completed in 2012. The government of Romania agreed to provide Lufkin with economic development incentives and financial assistance of 28 million euros towards construction costs, or about 30% of the plant cost. The Romanian operation will serve as a strategic hub to serve the European market, as well as acting as the focus for exports to Russia, Central Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia.

Founded in 1902, Lufkin is a leader in artificial lift systems for oil and gas applications and highly engineered power transmission gear systems. The company sells and services oil field pumping units, automation systems, gas and plunger lift systems, completion products, foundry castings, and power transmission products worldwide.

Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc.,

Houston, has acquired American Well Control Inc. for $17.2 million in cash and 1 million shares of Allis-Chalmers common stock. Based in Conroe, Tex., American Well Control is a leading manufacturer of premium high-pressure valves used in hydraulic fracturing in the unconventional gas shale plays. With an existing strong position for its frac valve product in the Haynesville shale, American Well Control intends to increase its presence in the Marcellus, Eagle Ford, and Bakken shale markets by establishing service and repair facilities side by side with Allis-Chalmers' existing locations.

Allis-Chalmers provides services and equipment to oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, the Gulf of Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. Allis-Chalmers provides directional drilling services, casing and tubing services, underbalanced drilling, production and workover services with coiled tubing units, rental of drill pipe and blowout prevention equipment, and international drilling and workover services.
