Honeywell International,Morris Township, NJ, has agreed to acquire Matrikon Inc., Edmonton, for about $142 million. In addition, entities related to Matrikon Pres. and CEO Nizar Somji have also granted an option to Honeywell to acquire their outstanding shares at a price of $4.50 (Canadian)/share, exercisable for 9 months after July 12, 2010. Matrikon will be integrated into Honeywell Process Solutions, part of Honeywell's Automation & Control Solutions group. Matrikon will bring to Honeywell complementary applications that monitor oil and gas well performance, among other industrial applications.
