Method provides welders new technique for avoiding arc blow

A new method allows welders with little background in magnetism to reduce arc blow during DC welding of pipelines.Arc blow most commonly occurs after an in-line magnetic-flux-leakage inspection tool magnetizes a pipe wall during an inspection run. DC arc welding is one of the most popular techniques in the oil and gas industry because of its versatility and relatively low cost.
