New NMR approach evaluates tight gas sand reservoirs

A new approach for evaluating neutron magnetic resonance (NMR) logs can determine permeability in tight gas reservoirs. The bulk gas-magnetic resonance permeability (BGMRK) has the same value in oil-based (OBM) and water-based (WBM) muds because it depends on gas reentry to the flushed zone after a mud cake is formed and mud invasion stops.Analysis of tight gas sand reservoirs is difficult.
