Promoting biofuels as an alternative to petroleum products, the Chinese government has set a goal of producing 2 million tonnes/year of biofuels by 2010 and 10 million tonnes/year by 2020, reported analyst Lijuan Wang of FACTS Inc., Honolulu.China has become the third largest producer of bioethanol, following Brazil and the US.
