Resource nationalism among hot topics at WEC

Resource nationalism is threatening the world’s economy and energy security in the long term, Rex Tillerson, ExxonMobil Corp. chairman and chief executive officer, told the World Energy Congress last week in Rome. “The key to innovation and creativity needed to address global energy challenges lies in free markets and strong international partnerships,” he said.Tillerson said ExxonMobil is on track to eliminate gas-flaring in Nigeria, which the Nigerian government wants all operators to stop in 2008.
