Denbury gauges large South Louisiana find

A group led by Denbury Resources Inc., Dallas, gauged an apparently large Miocene discovery at a deep test in Gibson field in northern Terrebonne Parish.The Westervest-2 well went to TD 19,346 ft and “logged significant pay in the primary Rob L objective,” said PetroQuest Energy Inc., Lafayette, La., which has a 25% working interest in the well. PetroQuest said the well is geologically similar to the 1999 Etoufee discovery at the nearby Turtle Bayou/Kent Bayou structural complex.Denbury said the well should go on production within 60 days.
