New scroll vacuum pump-compressor

This new semihermetic scroll vacuum pump-compressor comes in a variety of materials, with appropriate seals, that allows it to handle almost any gas other than air, including natural gas and other corrosive and hazardous gases.

The vacuum pump-compressor is suited for natural gas boosters. A full-hermetic design is also available.

Its patent pending design seals the pumping section of the unit, but allows cooling of both scrolls. Cool operation enables the unit to operate effectively at higher pressures and vacuums.

As a compressor, the unit can develop up to 60 psig (4 barg) and has a displacement of 2 cfm (57 l./min). The vacuum model can develop up to 200 mtorr ultimate vacuum with a displacement of 2 cfm. AC or DC motors can be supplied.

Thrust box designed for horizontal drilling

DirecTorq, a fully integrated motorized thrust box assembly (see photo at right), has been developed mainly for horizontal directional drilling rigs.

Designed for heavy duty service, DirecTorq is capable of operating with as much as 750+ tons of continuous thrust and pullback forces, while delivering as much as 95,000 lb-ft of torque. The assembly features a single-piece cast steel housing, a single-piece hollow through-shaft that can be supplied with either API threads or a bolt-on flange connection, and is powered by a low speed, high torque hydraulic motor to eliminate the need for gearing.

Assemblies are available in 10 preengineered sizes that can be easily modified into drop-in replacements for retrofitting or upgrading of existing rigs.
