Turbine oil conditioning systems aid refinery operations

These new KA-XP series turbine oil conditioning systems are tailored to the specific needs of refineries and petrochemical plants.

Each system applies coalescing-separating technology to keep turbines driving critical rotating equipment running, the company says. By maintaining minimum particulate and water content and being able to handle sudden water ingressions, each dedicated system helps assure that equipment and processes operate at peak capacity.

The explosionproof systems are flow-rated at 1-135 gpm, suited for reservoirs from as little as a few gallons to as much as 12,000 gal. The combination of the maker’s new multilayered, pleated coalescers and separators keep particulate levels to 16/14/11 per ISO 4406 and total water to below 100 ppm. A properly sized, dedicated system will improve uptime, lower operating and maintenance costs, and help reduce wear on critical components, the firm points out.

The advances represented by the new design of the coalescers and high-efficiency separators help assure maximum potential water removal for a coalescing system on turbine oil.

New conduit connectors for petchem applications

New T&B fittings stainless steel liquidtight conduit connectors are suited for petrochemical plant uses.

The connector’s body and gland nut are constructed of stainless steel, offering the corrosion resistance of nonmetallic fittings and the strength, durability, and ultraviolet resistance of conventional metallic fittings.

Connectors are available in straight, 45º, and 90º configurations in sizes to fit conduit from 3/8 in. to 2 in. The line’s UL Listed Ratings are 3, 3R, 4 and 4X. The line is also CSA listed.
