Total SA started production from Sein gas field in the Andaman Sea earlier this year. Two development wells on the field’s single wellhead platform produce a combined 35 MMcfd of dry gas that is routed to Yadana field facilities. Sein went on production in March 2006.
The fields are on Blocks M-5 and M-6. Chevron Corp., which has an interest in the fields, said Yadana’s output averaged 632 MMcfd in the last 5 months of 2005.
Texas - Gulf Coast
Drilling is under way on the Southwest Redfish Reef Prospect State Tract 307 No. 1 well in Trinity Bay southeast of Baytown, Tex.
Carson Energy Inc., private Austin independent, secured a minority working interest in the prospect, which is adjacent to the State Tract 308 (Grouper) leases. The Grouper well flowed 17.8 MMcfd of gas and 349 b/d of condensate with 5,894 psi FTP on a 24/64-in. choke (OGJ Online, July 24, 2006).
