Western Kentucky due deep exploration study

The Kentucky Geological Survey invited oil and gas companies to join and fund an exploration research consortium focused on the pre-Knox deep gas potential of the Rough Creek graben.Main goal of the group is to provide a structural and stratigraphic framework for frontier exploration efforts in this deep and largely unexplored rift basin in the western part of the state (see map, OGJ, Sept. 21, 1992, p. 97).The research may have implications for the developing shallower New Albany shale and heavy-oil plays in the basin, although this is not its main direction.Some possible objectives include the interpretation and integration of existing well, core, and seismic data to produce structure, ...
