Digital Oilfield Inc.

Calgary and Houston, has announced the opening of an office in London. The UK staff will focus on sales and support of Digital Oilfield’s software solutions in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EAME). Cameron Davis has been appointed regional manager for EAME. Davis, who began his career as a geophysicist, joins Digital from Landmark, a Halliburton company.

Digital Oilfield Inc. delivers Internet-based solutions that automate and integrate financial and operational processes between energy companies and their suppliers.

Acteon Group Ltd.

Norwich, UK, has expanded its operations with two acquisitions: flexible pipelay and retrieval specialists, Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd., and mooring design and installation contractors, Trident Offshore Ltd.

Established in 1976, Aquatic has headquarters in Aberdeen, an operations base in Peterhead, UK, a subsidiary in the Netherlands, and satellite offices in Egypt, Qatar, and Southeast Asia.

Trident has a strong presence in the North Sea, and has also worked offshore West Africa, South America, and China.

These acquisitions complement the activities of existing Acteon companies, InterMoor, 2H Offshore, and WellCut. Existing management teams from both Aquatic and Trident will remain in place with Acteon.

Acteon Group Ltd. provides specialized engineering services to the international offshore oil industry, focusing on the area between the seabed and the surface.

Geotrace

Houston, has appointed Gary Matyas as director of Latin American operations. Matyas has been working within the exploration industry since 1976, and within the seismic industry since 1980. Following a period in Houston, he will be based in Rio de Janeiro.

Geotrace is an independent integrated seismic and reservoir services company.

Petris Technology Inc.

Houston, has announced the acquisition of Maurer Technology drilling and completion software from Noble Technology Services, a div. of Noble Corp. Maurer software programs are used for well planning, engineering studies, analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting problems.

Petris Technology Inc. provides IT-based solutions in data management, application hosting, geospatial information systems, and professional services for energy clients.

Almansoori Specialized Engineering

Abu Dhabi, has extended its position in Egypt with the acquisition of service company, Gulf Petroleum Investments (GPI). GPI gives Almansoori a platform to introduce its inspection and wireline services in Egypt.

In another announcement, Almansoori named Edna Aricaya-Huevos and Graham Caie as health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) advisors. Aricaya-Huevos, a graduate of Ateneo de Davao University in the Philippines, is a practicing physician. Caie, a native of Aberdeen, has more than eight years of experience in the oil industry, with more than four years in HSEQ in the Middle East.

Almansoori Specialized Engineering is a leading regional provider of oil field services in the Middle East. Established in 1977, the company now operates in 15 countries, providing a wide variety of oil field services.

Schlumberger

Houston, has announced its acquisition of TerraTek Inc., a global leader in geomechanics measurements and analysis. Based in Salt Lake City, TerraTek will become the geomechanics laboratory center of excellence for Schlumberger Data & Consulting Services. The geomechanics laboratory center of excellence will offer rock mechanics evaluations, unconventional gas reservoir analysis, large-scale drilling and completions performance testing, and log-to-core integration.

Schlumberger is a leading global oil field services company supplying technology, information solutions, and integrated project management that optimize reservoir performance for its customers.

Baker Petrolite

Sugar Land, Tex., has acquired Rotterdam-based DBM Oil Chemicals BV. The acquisition will support the growth of Baker Petrolite’s fuel additives business, including its Prepared to Respond (P2R) services business segment.

Baker Petrolite, a div. of Baker Hughes Inc., is a world leader in providing chemical, engineering, and technology solutions to the global hydrocarbon recovery and processing industries.

Qserv

Aberdeen, has acquired Weatherford International Ltd.’s coiled tubing business, including all coiled tubing, flowline, and nitrogen related assets, contracts and ongoing business in the North Sea and Europe, as well as ongoing work in the Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania, and Yemen.

Qserv offers a range of services including coiled tubing, pumping, wireline, subsea well intervention, engineering, and pipeline services, primarily in the UKCS, but also in Qatar, Norway, Denmark, and other European countries.

Mustang Engineering

Houston, has announced that Will Voltz has joined the company’s pipeline business unit as project manager. From his base in the Birmingham, Ala., office, Voltz will provide project engineering, project management, and business development support to Mustang’s pipeline offices throughout the Southeast and Central US.

Voltz is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic & State University (Virginia Tech), and has more than 12 years of experience in the pipeline industry.
