St. Louis, Mo., has named Edward L. Scram as president and chief operating officer of Stupp Corp. Scram has 26 years of steel industry experience, and joined Stupp in 2005.

Stupp Corp., established in Baton Rouge, La., in 1952, is a leading North American manufacturer of custom line pipe for the transport of oil and natural gas.

Stupp Bros. Inc., founded in St. Louis in 1856, is the privately held parent company of Stupp Corp.

Houston, has announced the appointment of Randy Harl as chief executive officer effective January 2007. Harl, who will retain his position as president and chief operating officer, will be replacing Michael F. Curran, who will remain as chairman of the board.

Harl previously spent over 30 years in a variety of officer capacities with Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR).

Willbros Group Inc. is an independent contractor serving the oil, gas, and power industries. The company provides engineering and construction, and facilities development and operations services worldwide.

BASF Corp.

Florham Park, NJ, has appointed Wayne T. Smith as executive vice-president of BASF Corp., and president of its newly formed global catalysts div. The new BASF operating div. is a combination of the company’s existing global catalyst operations, and the Engelhard Corp. catalyst operations that BASF recently acquired that includes environmental, process, and purification technologies, and materials services.

Smith, who holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Syracuse University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, has more than 20 years of industry experience. He served with the packaged systems business of the BOC Group, and with the specialty construction chemicals group of W.R. Grace & Co. before joining BASF.

BASF Corp. is a leading global chemical company whose portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products, agricultural products, and fine chemicals for crude oil and natural gas processing.

Enerflex Systems Ltd.

Calgary, has announced the appointment of J. Blair Goertzen as president and chief executive officer upon the retirement of P. John Aldred. Aldred will remain as executive chairman of the board. Goertzen joined Enerflex in 2003 after holding senior executive positions with other oil and gas service companies.

Enerflex Systems Ltd. is a leading supplier of products and services to the global oil and natural gas production industry, with core expertise in products and services for the industry segment operating between the wellhead and the pipeline. The company has approximately 2,600 employees worldwide.

VSFusion

Paris, has announced its acquisition of Magnitude SAS, a provider of comprehensive microseismic monitoring services to the oil and gas industry worldwide. Magnitude will continue to operate as a separate business unit, using the Magnitude name.

VSFusion is a joint venture company formed from the borehole seismic processing groups of Baker Atlas Div. of Baker Hughes Inc., and Compagnie Générale de Géophysique (CGG). The company specializes in borehole seismic application design, data processing, and interpretation.

Schlumberger

Houston, has announced Schlumberger Information Solutions’ (SIS) acquisition of the rights to Quorum Volume Management (QVM) software from Quorum Business Solutions, and rights to the use of Aspen Asset Builder technology from Aspen Technology Inc.

With the Quorum software, SIS will develop its next-generation production volumes management solution upon the QVM technology foundation, and will partner with Quorum to integrate with accounting workflows.

Aspen Asset Builder technology enables the integration of simulation models from a variety of sources. SIS will use the Aspen technology to drive greater operational efficiency by eliminating the divide between upstream and downstream business processes.

SIS also has been granted rights to develop, include, or embed Aspen Operations Manager as a technology component in products it develops for upstream oil and gas.

Schlumberger is a leading oil field services company supplying technology, information solutions, and integrated project management to optimize reservoir performance for customers in the oil and gas industry.

Universal Compression Holdings Inc.

Houston, has announced the appointment of Ernie L. Danner to the newly created position of executive vice-president and chief operating officer. Danner most recently served as executive vice-president and president of the international division.

BJ Services Co.

Aberdeen, has appointed Gary Broiles as senior region operations manager and Marc Allenby as Libya country manager, both for the Well Services Div. within the Europe and Africa region.

Broiles joined BJ Services in 1995, when BJ bought The Western Co., where he had worked since 1981. He holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University.

Allenby began his career working offshore in the North Sea for Rowan Drilling before joining Nowsco prior to its 1996 acquisition by BJ Services.
