Trondheim and London, respectively, have announced a three-year collaboration agreement to develop new production optimization technologies to extend the life of oil and gas fields. Field tests will be conducted in fields with smart wells, instrumented wells, and a high-quality communication infrastructure. Statoil will identify and execute pilots on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Houston, has announced executive reorganization following the retirement of chief operating officer John R. Blocker Jr. The duties of chief operating officer have been reassigned among the company’s vice-president-Eastern Hemisphere operations, vice-president-Western Hemisphere operations, and vice-president-engineering and technical support, all of whom report directly to president and CEO Louis A. Raspino.
