Lufkin Oilfield Products Group

Lufkin, Tex., has appointed Don Crow as general sales manager for pumping unit products. Crow holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University, and has held several positions with Lufkin since joining the company in 1986.

Crow announced the promotion of Dewayne Atwell, previously US sales manager, to Eastern Hemisphere sales manager, and David Freeze, formerly senior sales representative in Bakersfield, Calif., as US sales manager, relocating to the company’s sales offices in Houston. Atwell received a BBA degree from East Central Oklahoma State University, and worked for Oxy USA Inc. before joining Lufkin in 1997. Freeze earned a BA degree from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Tex., and has been with Lufkin since 1978.

Boise, Ida., has announced the formation of a co-venture with UK-based Whessoe Oil & Gas Ltd. to provide engineering, procurement, and construction services for LNG tanks, receiving terminals, and peak shaving storage facilities in the US and select international locations.

Whessoe Oil & Gas Ltd., in business for more than 200 years, completed the world’s first commercial LNG import terminal near London more than 40 years ago. The company offers proven technology for both metallic and concrete primary containment, and also developed and implemented the world’s first modular, rectangular LNG tank for use in offshore gravity-based structures.

Aberdeen, has announced the appointment of Tom Conlon as operations manager for its Dubai office. Conlon has over 30 years of oil industry experience, starting his career with Loffland Brothers as a drilling engineer. He also worked for Marathon Oil before joining BG-Rashpetco in Egypt in 2004. His expertise covers all aspects of development and exploration drilling activity, in particular complex platform drilling projects, and highly deviated wells.
