Monterey, Calif., has announced the opening of an office in Shanghai, to support its customers in the Asia Pacific region. Erwang Song serves as director of Sierra-Asia operations. He has over 20 years of experience in the industrial flow markets Sierra serves in China.

Sierra Instrument manufactures high performance flowmeters and controllers.

James W. Sewall Co.

Old Town, Me., has announced the appointment of Timothy Disney as director of pipeline services. Based in Tulsa, Disney will direct Sewall’s pipeline integrity management services which include GIS and asset management consulting, spatial data development, and software development for gas and liquid pipeline operations.

Disney earned a BS degree in physics from Kent State University, and is an accredited corrosion specialist with NACE International. He has over 25 years of experience with Williams Pipe Line, Mid-America Pipeline, Seminole Pipeline, Kaneb Pipe Line, ConocoPhillips, and most recently with FTS Corp.

James W. Sewall Co. has 50 years of experience in aerial photography and land base mapping, 30 years in GIS, and 15 years in pipeline software development.

Modbus-IDA

North Grafton, Mass., has elected Fred Cohn to succeed retiring president Kenneth Crater. Cohn holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, and an MBA from Babson College.

Modbus-IDA is an organization of independent users and suppliers of automation devices that seeks to drive the adoption of the Modbus communication protocol suite. The group also provides the infrastructure to obtain and share information about the protocols, their application, and certification.

Houston, has announced the opening of the industry’s first fully integrated real time decision center (RTDC) by its Digital and Consulting Solutions (DCS) Div. The facility provides a single collaborative work environment to improve workflow processes.

Halliburton is one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the petroleum and energy industries.

Houston, has announced the promotion of Gary Yu to general manager of reservoir integration. Yu previously worked for Total and Elf in a variety of geographical and geological settings.

Geotrace is an independent, integrated seismic and reservoir services company that develops innovative methods for imaging and analysis of subsurface data to evaluate reservoirs

Houston, has named Jerry Lastovica as president of the company, and vice-chairman of the Flexitallic Ltd. board. Lastovica earned a bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing from Sam Houston State University, and completed the advanced management program at Rice University.

Established in 1912, Flexitallic LP is a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial sealing products. The company’s flagship product, the spiral wound gasket, is primarily used to seal pipes in refineries, petrochemical plants, and other process applications worldwide.
