Houston, has announced the opening of new manufacturing facilities.

In Thailand, the new facility for the JDR Umbilical Systems business unit will manufacture subsea production control umbilicals for markets in Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East. The plant is located in Sattahip, south of Bangkok.

The Rotterdam, Netherlands, facility will more than double the current production capacity for JDR’s Smart Solutions business unit.

JDR Cable Systems (Holdings) Ltd. is a leading provider of intervention and control umbilicals for offshore oil and gas, and specialized cables for the seismic and defense industries.

Lodestar Corp.

Peabody, Mass., has promoted John Hovan to senior vice-president, chief software architect, and chief technology officer. Hovan holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and a master’s degree in computer science from Boston University. He has been with Lodestar for 12 years.

MAN Turbo AG

Oberhausen, Germany, has taken over the steam turbine activities of B+V Industrietechnik GmbH (BVI), Hamburg.

BVI steam turbines are installed as generator drives for biomass, waste incineration, and in co-generation power plants in Central and Northern Europe. MAN Turbo steam turbines are established globally as compressor and generator drives.

Prosernat

Paris, has announced the appointment of Jean-Noël Meary as chairman and chief executive officer. Meary, a graduate of Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics, has over 30 years of experience with Technip prior to joining Prosernat.

Prosernat, a subsidiary of IFP, supplies process technology and equipment to the oil and gas industry. The company offers processing units for phase separation, natural gas dehydration and sweetening, NGL extraction, and sulphur recovery.

Siemens Automation & Drives Group

Nuremberg, Germany, has announced agreement to acquire Controlotron, based in Hauppauge, NY.

Controlotron manufactures ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeters, employs a staff of 120, and has a global sales network that will be integrated into the Siemens organization.

Siemens Automation & Drives Group provides products for the manufacturing and process industries, the electrical installation industry, and offers software for linking production and management.

Superior Oil & Gas Co.

Yukon, Okla., has announced an agreement to acquire Williams Equipment Co., Oklahoma City. Williams is an independent oil and gas field equipment supplier to the Southwest US.

Superior Oil & Gas Co. has executed agreements to purchase over 28 gas wells in Kansas and plans to make further acquisitions.
