Wellbore data management system enhanced

The first series of enhancements to the PetrisWINDS Recall and PetrisWINDS Enterprise product lines are designed to make RECALL the industry’s most open wellbore data management system, with two-way access and the largest integration footprint.

These new capabilities include:

• Enhanced web-based access to RECALL data and improvements in the graphical user interface that help simplify the process of locating data.

• A GIS implementation for search, allowing users to view and zoom in on data using a familiar map interface.

• Full scale integration with PetrisWINDS Enterprise that enables two-way movement of data between RECALL and a range of other applications.

• Implementing relational database access to the RECALL database.

The integration of RECALL has also resulted in the creation of a new version of PetrisWINDS Enterprise. Called Archive, it includes a list of features but in a version designed specifically for coupling with a single data source, such as PetrisWINDS Recall. The Archive version has the Enterprise architecture with the ability to seamlessly upgrade to more fully featured integration products as needs expand.

New damper isolates refinery gas flow

Here’s the new Flex-Seat guillotine damper for the isolation of gas flows in refineries and chemical plants.

The fully bonneted unit provides high performance and simplified maintenance to meet the needs of combustion and hot gas systems, the company says.

Self-cleaning and maintenance-free rack and pinion drives promise reliable blade transfer even under the most corrosive and debris-laden service conditions. The rack and pinion drives positively propel the blade in both directions, eliminating the possibility of mechanical binding.

The damper achieves 100% isolation by utilizing a complete system of complementary and redundant seals.
