London, has completed its acquisition of Roxar, headquartered in Stavanger.

Arcapita Ltd.

London, has completed its acquisition of Roxar, headquartered in Stavanger.

Roxar provides technology services and equipment to the oil and gas industry. Its CEO, Sandy Esslemont, will retain a shareholding in the company.

Arcapita Ltd. is the European private equity arm of Arcapita Bank BSC, an international investment firm headquartered in Bahrain.

Houston, has appointed John J. Murray as director of technology development. Murray previously was product development manager with Technip. He is the final addition to the new firm’s management team that includes Eric H. Namtvedt, president; Christopher M. Barton, director of business development; Werner A. Bornstein, director of pursuit and capture; Tapan K. Das, director of commercial, contracts, and administration; Terje W. Eilertsen, director of technology solutions; and Fred B. Plummer, responsible for execution excellence.

FloaTec LLC is a newly formed joint venture between Keppel Fels and J. Ray McDermott, providing world-class deepwater solutions, lead pursuits, and prospect developments. Its deepwater solutions include tension leg platforms (TLPs), SPARs, and production semisubmersibles.

Halliburton

Houston, has announced the appointment of William P. Utt as president and chief executive officer of KBR, its engineering and construction subsidiary.

Utt has more than 20 years of industry experience, and most recently served as president and CEO of Suez Energy North America. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the same university.

Utt’s appointment follows Halliburton’s announcement of plans to separate KBR from Halliburton executive management.

Halliburton is one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the petroleum and energy industries.

International Motion Control (IMC)

Buffalo, NY, has announced its purchase of Evolutionary Concepts Inc. (ECI), headquartered in San Dimas, Calif. ECI’s solenoid valve product line will be merged with IMC’s Alcon in North America.

International Motion Control has manufacturing facilities in the US, Germany, UK, Japan, Korea, and China, and an extensive global distribution network. The company operates in four groups: Automation, Controls, Energy Absorption, and Distribution.

Intec Engineering

Houston, has named Bruce Crager as chief executive officer. He replaces John Reed, who will relocate to The Netherlands as chief executive officer of Heerema Marine Contractors.

Crager, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, previously held senior management positions with ABB Offshore Systems Inc. and Oceaneering International Inc. He holds a BS degree in ocean engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Intec Engineering, an operating company within Heerema Group, is a leading engineering and project management company serving the international oil and gas industry.

Its technical disciplines include marine pipelines and risers, subsea systems, systems engineering, floating systems, and marine installation management.

Epcon Offshore AS

Porsgrunn, Norway, has been sold by private equity firm 3i to M-I Swaco. Epcon is a leading provider of produced water treatment systems for the oil & gas industry.

M-I Swaco is a leading supplier of drilling and completion fluids, production chemicals, and solids control & waste management services to the worldwide petroleum industry.

Houston, has appointed Peter D. Kinnear as president and chief operating officer. Kinnear previously served as executive vice-president for the company’s Energy Systems business. He will retain those responsibilities with his new position.

FMC Technologies Inc. designs, manufactures, and services technologically sophisticated systems and products for the energy, food processing, and air transportation industries.

Mustang Engineering LP

Houston, has announced its acquisition of Global Performance Holdings Inc., an international provider of project management, construction management, and engineering and design services to the chemical, process, and industrial sectors. Global, based in Greenville, SC, will be part of Mustang’s new process & industrial business unit. The new business unit will be led by John W. Dalton Sr.

Global co-founders Dennis Braasch, Jay Alexander, Steve Kiker, and Rich Koester will be part of the business unit’s executive management team.
