United Nation’s future

The United Nation’s future was mentioned in the editorial, “The UN inquiries (OGJ, Jan. 24, 2005, p. 19).” Do they have one? The Oil-for-Food program is only a small part of the UN’s problems. George Schultz, former Secretary of State, defined the UN: “States create international organizations to serve their ends, not to govern them.” The United Nations has moved to world governing, eroding state systems in the process, and leading to hovac, lawlessness, and poverty. The UN moves to gain taxing power; it proposes taxes on the world’s financial transactions. That would involve sums of $1-2 trillion. And they couldn’t be trusted to watch over a few billion!
