Houston, has named Paul Allen as vice-president of its newly formed capital project & finance advisory practice area, and Don Zmick as vice-president of the oil & gas commercialization practice area.

Houston, has named Paul Allen as vice-president of its newly formed capital project & finance advisory practice area, and Don Zmick as vice-president of the oil & gas commercialization practice area.

Allen, formerly CEO/project director of the Project Executive Group Inc., is a certified project management professional, and has taught in the MBA, executive MBA, and executive education programs at Rice University as an adjunct professor of management for the last seven years. He holds a BS degree from the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY, an MBA from Rice University, and has over 20 years of experience in project development and finance.

Zmick has worked in the oil and gas industry for 20 years. He holds a BS degree in petroleum engineering from Texas Tech University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Agilent Technologies Inc.

Palo Alto, Calif., has elected William P. Sullivan as president and chief executive officer, replacing Edward W. Barnholt, who has announced his retirement. James G. Cullen will assume the position of non-executive chairman upon Barnholt’s retirement.

Sullivan, who holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of California-Davis, joined Hewlett-Packard Co. in 1976 and most recently served as executive vice-president and COO of Agilent.

Agilent Technologies, a spin-off from Hewlett Packard, is a global technology provider of communications, electronics, life sciences, and chemical analysis services and products.

Aberdeen, UK, has appointed Mark Papworth as chief operating officer-Eastern Hemisphere for its Gas Turbine Services Div. Papworth, who has more than 15 years of senior management experience, most recently was COO and executive vice-president of Rolls-Royce Energy.

Houston, has announced the opening of its Reservoir Fluids Center (RFC) in Edmonton, Alta., Canada. The new center will enable Schlumberger to advance its research in reservoir fluids, as well as develop knowledge, equipment, and methodologies needed to apply the research to practical operations.

Schlumberger Oilfield Services supplies a wide range of products and services from formation evaluation through directional drilling, well cementing and stimulation, well completions and productivity, to consulting, software, information management, and IT infrastructure services. Springfield, Ohio, has announced the appointment of Keith M. Peterson as vice-president of sales & marketing, and David A. Doty as national sales manager.

Peterson has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing of industrial equipment.

Doty, who earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Defiance College, and an MBA in marketing from Wright State University, has been with Moyno for 21 years.

Houston, has named Lanny Waguespack as vice-president of LNG engineering services. Waguespack has more than 30 years of experience in the midstream oil and gas business, including service with Randall & Dewey, CMS Energy, and Amoco Production Co. He earned a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University.
