New lifting service helps pump's run time

Recently launched Axia lifting service is designed to help improve overall performance of a well's lifting system.

The lifting service includes equipment installation and real-time monitoring, surveillance, and diagnostic services for electrical submersible pumps (ESP). In addition, the service provides a new, simpler designed ESP with integral instrumentation, surface hardware, and secure connectivity.

Monitoring with the Axia lifting service resulted in a 70% oil production increase in one well, the company points out. The real-time surveillance and control system provided instant notification when an alarm situation occurred. The monitoring service provided continuous pressure and temperature data from the ESP and played an integral role in improving pump and well operations, as well as identifying detrimental events that affected the ESP's performance. The operator's time and effort were spent improving well performance and preventing problems rather than gathering data and reacting to problems.

The service is available only with a new generation ESP that features a simple two-piece assembly. The simple design helps reduce assembly time at the well site and results in a more reliable installation, the firm says. There is no up-front capital expense for customers, as the ESP is included with the service agreement, which is based on performance success.

Real-time monitoring and control features include remote data acquisition and transmission, alarms and alerts via satellite, remote pump start-up and speed control, and remote resolution of certain pump problems.

Seismic processing software now on two platforms

The Geocluster seismic processing software suite now is available on 32-bit and 64-bit cluster platforms.

In supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit solutions, the company says it delivers cost-effective high-performance processing services and solutions.

Over the last 5 years the firm has deployed industrial-scale high-performance computing on Linux-based clusters. Working in partnership with the processor manufacturers and PC cluster manufacturers, the company says it has been able to optimize the price-performance of its processing services and external software and IT solutions.
