New oil field SCADA system

New ClearSCADA is a premium automation software platform for gathering, processing, and relaying information in real time while providing process visualization, data acquisition, and supervisory control in such uses as well monitoring, pipeline operations, and custody transfer.

The company says its product monitors and controls any process in oil and gas production, from wellhead to pipeline.

It also features built-in system redundancy, scalability, and increased security control. The new SCADA platform integrates seamlessly with the firm’s controllers and is based on open interface and protocol standards for use with third-party hardware.

New storage array fast, scalable

A new fast and scalable high-end storage array is capable of providing leading functionality while scaling to one petabyte (1,024 terabytes) of capacity.

The new Symmetrix DMX-3 system provides functionality, performance, and tiered storage capabilities in a single system.

The new system complements the Symmetrix DMX-2 Series of systems.

The DMX-3 stores more data and delivers higher performance for customers who want to consolidate their information onto a high-end platform, the firm points out. The design features increased processing power and internal bandwidth, new memory technology, and support for lower cost disk drives. The system will enable users to replace multiple existing storage platforms with a single system and pay-as-you-grow economics. The new storage array supports as many as 960 disk drives and will be qualified to support as many as 1,920 disk drives in first-half 2006 and more than 2,000 by the end of next year.
