Rotating joint handles abrasive fluids
Here's the 5000ASM Series Rotary Union for abrasive fluid applications.
These rotary unions or rotating joints are designed to provide a rotating seal between fluids and a revolving roll or drum. Commonly conducted media are water, hot oils, steam, chemicals, and air.
The ASM seal is a tungsten carbide face ring against a siliconized graphite seal ring, offering protection against grooving.
Other features are a stainless steel wetted construction and hardware for corrosion resistance. The fluorocarbon O-rings and two precision bearings keep the 5000 series seal faces perfectly aligned, the company says. All sizes can be adapted to dual flow applications with the addition of a stainless steel elbow. Operating parameters range to as much as 750 psi and 3,600 rpm for various models. Size ranges are 1/4 to 2 in.

Enhanced communication system for pipeline uses
The newly improved OmniLYNX system is suited for pipeline operations.
Its line modules OL-2488E and OL-600E offer 64 Kbps channel granularity, eliminating access multiplexers and most cross-connect equipment from the user's network.
The firm says its communication system:
Drops 64 Kbps channels directly to the interface modules.
Provides true multipoint connections at all bandwidth levels.
Provides less than 10 ms protection switching time.
Maps SONET/SDH-bandwidth so efficiently that it eliminates most cross-connect equipment.
Allows interface modules to be plugged into any slot in the shelf in any combination
Installs easily without dip switches, hardware settings, or shelf cables.
The OLM-2488 and OLM-622 controller modules combine all common card functions into a single slot, including extensive on-board monitoring. OmniLYNX networks require only two common cards for redundant network operation.
