Staffed by six attorneys, the Almaty office will be headed by managing partner Kenneth E. Mack. Mack earned his BA degree from Hampshire College, a master’s from Columbia University, and his JD from Northeastern University.

Thomas Jung is chief executive officer of PIT, and Roger Vogel is chief operating officer.
PipeCare AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Statoil ASA.

Lafayette, La., has opened a full-service facility in Baku, Azerbaijan, to rent, repair, and maintain tools for projects in that country. The facility offers stabilizers, subs, hole openers, roller reamers, and non-mag drill collars.

Easywell
Stavanger, has appointed Gregg Zemke as regional manager for Russia, based in Moscow, and Oscar Barrios as regional manager for Latin America, based in Caracas, Venezuela.
Zemke studied civil engineering at Michigan Technological University, and petroleum technology at Northwestern Michigan College. He has worked for Dowell Schlumberger, Treesavers International, Stinger Wellhead Protection, before joining Easywell.
Barrios is a petroleum engineering graduate of the University of Wyoming, earned a second degree in economics from the Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela, and received an MBA from Houston’s Letourneau University. His experience includes service with Otis Engineering, Schlumberger, and Weatherford.
Easywell is a new technology company specializing in novel reservoir completion products.
