Aberdeen, has announced its acquisition of DHV International Inc., a leading supplier of downhole video services to the oil and gas industry. DHV is headquartered in Oxnard, Calif.
Downhole video systems are used for fluid entry surveys, and as a fishing aid, as well as to diagnose wellbore problems.

Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition (LAGCOE)
Lafayette, La., has elected a new slate of officers to spearhead the 2005 event. Al Thomas, Thomas Energy Inc., is chairman; David Shealy, Hughes Christensen, is co-chairman, and Howard Wilson, Novus Louisiana Inc., is treasurer. Sally Ware continues as event coordinator and director of the exposition.
Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition has evolved since its first event in 1955. Originally an exhibition focused primarily on the Louisiana Gulf Coast, today it attracts global attention with its technology sessions and exhibits.
International Fuel Technology Inc. (IFT)
St. Louis, Mo., has appointed Jayne A. Winfrey as president and chief operating officer, and Gary S. Hirstein as executive vice-president and chief financial officer. Both appointees joined IFT from Shell Oil Co.
Winfrey, who holds a BS degree from Iowa State University, most recently has served as general manager of marketing, fuels, and convenience retailing for Shell. She spent 25 years with the company, leading the global design team and the US marketing campaign for the company’s most highly formulated gasoline.
Hirstein held various financial and operational positions during his 27 years with Shell. He earned a BS degree in economics from MacMurray College, and attended St. Louis University’s graduate finance program.

Tetra Technologies Inc.
The Woodlands, Tex., has appointed Stuart M. Brightman as executive vice-president and chief operating officer, and Paul Coombs as executive vice-president of strategic initiatives.
Prior to joining Tetra, Brightman spent 11 years with Dresser Inc., most recently as division president of Dresser Flow Control. He also had served with Wheatley Txt, Cameron Iron Works, and Cooper Oil Tool. He holds a BS degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
Coombs has been with Tetra for 23 years, holding a number of critical positions during that time. He also serves on the company’s board of directors.
Tetra Technologies Inc. is an oil and gas services company, including an integrated calcium chloride and brominated products manufacturing operation.

Pipe Line Contractors Association is a non-profit association representing the major mainline pipeline construction companies in the US.
SulphCo Inc.
Sparks, Nev., has appointed Rolf Klug as project manager for Asian operations. Klug will oversee delivery and installation of the SulphCo Sonocracking ultrasound demonstration plant in South Korea. The plant process upgrades crude oil by increasing the distillate yield while simultaneously reducing sulfur and nitrogen content.
Klug has 25 years of engineering experience, the majority of which was with ABB.
