Wireless unit transfers data from wellhead to desktop

FGRIO is a new, fully integrated, totally wireless sensor monitoring solution available to the industry.

The wireless input-output system is an end-to-end solution allowing for communication and diagnostics from a central location to instruments in the field, eliminating the cost of trenching, increasing safety, and bringing automation to the entire site, the company points out.

The system uses wireless technology to link computer desktops to wellheads.

Users can monitor a wellsite without the cost of trenching. The end-to-end technology of the firm’s radios instantly establishes communication networks and data flow under any conditions and in all environments.

The company says that cost savings will include installation and monitoring.

Compact electronic pressure regulator

Here’s the Type-550X miniature electropneumatic I/P, E/P transducer with ATEX compliance.

The unit’s compact housing, accessible ports, and easy adjustments help suit it for uses that are space-constrained. The Type-550X with 4-20 ma signal, approved by Factory Mutual and the Canadian Standards Association, now complies with the ATEX directive 94/9/EC for equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in Europe.

The electronic pressure regulator converts a variable signal (current or voltage) to a proportional pneumatic output. The ATEX compliant unit comes standard with a NEMA-4X housing and is approved for intrinsically safe applications. Input and output ports on front and back of the unit allow for versatile plumbing.

High flow capacity delivers quick actuation of dampers, louvers, valves, and cylinders. Other features include field reversible, RFI/EMI protection, external zero and span adjustments, and removable external orifice.

The firm says the unit promises precise air pressure regulation to actuators, valves, positioners, cylinders, clutches, brakes, and other final control elements.
