Paris, the oil & gas industry French Suppliers Council, has elected Dominique Michel as chairman. Michel, president of Doris Engineering, is well known for his expertise in offshore engineering, and his contributions to technological breakthroughs in the field.

BJ Services Co.

Aberdeen, has announced the appointment of Lindsay Link as general manager of BJ Process & Pipeline Services, replacing John Adams, who has retired. Link, who holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA-finance from the University of Calgary, joined BJ Services in 1983 in Canada. He has held positions with the company in Saudi Arabia, and Houston. BJ Services Co. is a leading provider of pressure pumping and related oil field services.

Tidelands Oil & Gas Corp.

San Antonio, has named Bob Dowies as vice-president of gas markets and supply. Dowies has 30 years of oil and gas industry experience. He earned a BS degree in business administration from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, La., and worked for Gulf States Utilities Co. before founding Trebor Energy Resources, a natural gas marketing company, in 1994. Tidelands Oil & Gas Corp. focuses on international pipeline crossings, gas processing plants, and gas storage facilities. Through its seven subsidiaries, Tidelands offers a full range of services, both domestically and internationally.

Houston, has named Jim Breihan as president of its Tubular Technology & Services Div., based at the company's offices in The Woodlands, Tex. Breihan earned a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas, and an MBA from the University of Houston. He most recently served as vice-president of engineering for Grant Prideco's Drilling Products & Services Div. Grant Prideco Inc. is a leader in drill stem technology development, and drill pipe manufacturing, sales, and service; as well as a leading provider of highperformance engineered connections, and premium tubulars in North America.

U.S. Liquids of Louisiana (USLL) LP

Houston, has named William F. Werdenberg as chief executive officer, and Rory Moran as chief financial officer. Werdenberg is a graduate of Rice University, and has 25 years of experience in oil field and technology management, and strategy consulting. Moran, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, has 25 years of experience in oil field financial control and operations. USLL manages produced water, spent drilling fluids, drilling cuttings, spent workover/well completion fluids, and produced oily sands and solids. It has six permitted transfer facilities, six processing sites, and 10 injection wells in the Gulf Coast and South Texas.The firm is privately held by Three Cities Research Inc.

Lafayette, La., has announced the appointment of Keith R. Rouly as sales manager. Rouly, who holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana- Lafayette, has more than 30 years of sales, management, and market development experience with oil field equipment companies. He previously was division manager for Tuboscope's drill pipe services in Broussard, La. Hub City Iron Works Inc. is a leading manufacturer of specialty tubular maintenance products, such as cleaning machines, portable lathe refacing tools, pipe straightening tools, and custom pipe refurbishing equipment, computer automated hydrostatic testing units, and thread protector cleaning machines.

Houston, has announced its acquisition of AOA Geomarine Operations (AGO) LLC. AGO, operating as a Schlumberger company, will continue under the leadership of Lionel Fray, president and CEO. AGO is a leading provider of marine controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) and marine magnetotelluric (MMT) services for use in offshore exploration activities. Schlumberger Ltd. is a leading global oil field services company, with products and services ranging from formation evaluation through directional drilling, well cementing and stimulation, well completions, and productivity, to consulting, software, information management, and IT infrastructure services.
