Stavanger, has announced its expansion of Middle East and Asia Pacific operations with establishment of regional headquarters in Dubai.

Stavanger, has announced its expansion of Middle East and Asia Pacific operations with establishment of regional headquarters in Dubai. Regional manager Morten Tonnesen relocated from Roxar's Oslo office, and is driving the expansion plans in Dubai.

The company's software div. has doubled its technical support and service team, and plans to quadruple its sales force in the region this year. Blair Shimmield has been appointed sales manager for Middle East, and Brett Farquhar has been named sales manager for Asia Pacific.

Shimmield, with 14 years of oil industry experience, holds a master's degree in organic geochemistry, and was previously a managing partner at Landmark Graphics.

Farquhar also has 14 years of industry experience, and joins Roxar from Schlumberger-Petrel, where he was Southeast Asia account manager.

Roxar is a leading international technology solutions provider to the upstream oil and gas industry.

Stabil Drill

Lafayette, La., has announced the opening of full-service facilities in Bridgeport, Tex., and Casper, Wyo. Both facilities offer premium tools and service, including stabilizers, hole openers, roller reamers, and drill pipe.

Nuflo Technologies Canada Ltd.

Calgary, has announced its acquisition of two subsidiaries of Barber Engineering & Controls Ltd.: North Star Flow Products, and the Specialty Products Div.

North Star's line of orifice fittings and meter runs, and Specialty Products' offering of specialty parts and orifice plates fit with NuFlo's brands.

NuFlo Technologies Inc. is a wholly owned venture of SCF Partners, as is its Canadian subsidiary, NuFlo Technologies Canada Ltd.

Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI)

Houston, has announced the promotion of Halina Caravello to the position of director of HS&E for BHI, and appointment as vice-president of HS&E for Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations. She previously served as director of HS&E for Baker Petrolite Div.

Caravello earned a BS degree in biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an MS degree in biology/ecology at the University of Houston, and has completed work toward a PhD in environmental toxicology at the University of Houston.

Houston, has announced that Barton D. Ford has been named a managing partner in the firm's Houston office, moving from its New York office.

Aberdeen, has appointed Brad Pellegrin as area manager-North America for BJ Tubular Services. Pellegrin will be instrumental in the consolidation into BJ of two recently acquired Louisiana-based companies: Petro-Drive, and Cajun Tubular Services.

Pellegrin has 16 years of experience in the oil field service industry, working for American Oilfield Divers, and most recently with XL Systems.

BJ Tubular Services specializes in personnel and equipment for running casing and tubing, particularly premium connections, high chrome content tubulars, dual, triple, and subsea completions, as well as hydraulic hammer conductor and caisson driving services.

BJ Services Co. is a leading provider of pressure pumping and related oil field services to the global petroleum industry.

Littleton, Colo., has announced the opening of an office in Calgary to support ongoing work in western Canada. The Calgary office is managed by Colin Gagne, who has more than 10 years of experience in the area of integrity management, pipeline geotechnical issues, and stress corrosion cracking.
