New Coriolis mass flowmeter series designed for liquid flow applications

The new FCM2000 Coriolis mass flowmeter simultaneously measures mass flow rate, process density, and process temperature.

The maker says its meters bring added value to end user process streams that rely on technology and option choices listed here:

A personal computer connection quickly can upload and download meter configurations, saving valuable time compared with manual entry.

1) Multiple accuracy classifications for rate and density measurements are offered to match process requirements without added burden of additional costs.

2) Temperature compensation for the meter housing and process tubing is employed to insure reliable start-up and batch processing.

3) Using a common set of electronic components for all meter versions helps simplify personnel training and reduce maintenance costs.

4) The compact size of the TrioMass Series allows easy installation with reduced space requirements.

5) Availability of meters to 6 in. pipe size extends the benefits of using Coriolis technology at higher flow rates with more accurate results.

In addition, the new mass flowmeter provides sophisticated digital signal processing (DSP) and a simple way to configure multiple applications.

DSP employs advanced filtering techniques to detect weak flow signals and minimize effects of pipeline vibration and interferences. DSP technology analyzes and filters any interfering signals to provide stable, reliable measurements.

To simplify setup for multiple applications, an external plug-in EEPROM stores configuration parameters. All configuration parameters and calibration data are automatically downloaded to the flowmeter when the power is reapplied.

Local meter readouts consist of a 2 by 16 dot matrix backlit liquid crystal display. These displays can indicate values for mass or volume flow rate, percent of maximum flow, flow rates in bar graph form, temperature, density, forward or reverse totalization, meter tube frequency, driver current, and sensor amplitude.

Two configurable current outputs provide values for flow rate, density, and temperature, pulse, and frequency outputs are available for external totalization. The HART protocol constitutes the initial digital communications available.

Meter sizes to 6-in. pipe provide measurable mass flow rates from 45 kg/min (100 lb/min) to 11,000 kg/min (24,000 lb/min). Measurable densities range from 0.5 kg/l. to 3.5 kg/l., while accuracies may run from ±0.15% to ±0.4% of rate, depending on user requirements. The flowmeters can be self-draining in horizontal and vertical orientations.

Baseplates and guards come as a complete, ready-to-assemble package for easy pump and motor installation.

The HFD series is available for NEMA motor frame sizes 56 through 215 and features heavy gauge construction of epoxy powder coated steel or 304 grade stainless steel.

Custom versions are available. Pump, motor, coupling, and pump-motor adapter are ordered separately.
