Schlumberger Information Solutions

Houston, has announced two appointments for its recently launched Schlumberger Business Consulting group. Antoine Rostand has been named global managing director. Don Painter has been named director for North and South America.

Rostand, a graduate of France's Ecole Polytechnique and INSEAD, began his career as an engineer with Schlumberger Oilfield Services. Most recently, he served as vice-president for SchlumbergerSema Consulting & System Integration-Europe.

Painter is an honors graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, with graduate MBA studies at the University of Houston. A former US Navy nuclear submarine officer, he also was a senior reserve intelligence officer with the Navy and Defense Intelligence Agency. He has worked in several positions with ExxonMobil, and most recently headed Global Energy & Chemicals Consulting for IBM Global Services.

Schlumberger is a leading oil field services company, supplying a wide range of products and services from formation evaluation through directional drilling, well cementing and stimulation, well completions and productivity, to consulting, software, information management, and IT infrastructure services.

PetroCom LLC

New Orleans, in concert with leading wireless network equipment manufacturers Siemens and Ericsson, has announced the launch of the first digital cellular network in the Gulf of Mexico. Extensive testing of the network is taking place this summer with its partners and select customers.

PetroCom's network will deliver approximately 100,000 square miles of coverage in the Gulf, and will also provide additional coverage to support deepwater exploration projects and specialized market demands.

PetroCom LLC is a full-service telecommunications and network solutions company serving the business community, with particular emphasis in the energy industry.

Geotrace Technologies Inc.

Houston, has named Jesse Perez as chief financial officer.

Additionally, Geotrace announced the establishment of an office in Aberdeen, UK, managed by John Ebbern.

Geotrace Technologies Inc. is an integrated, reservoir services company that provides subsurface imaging solutions to the oil and gas industry.

John Wood Group PLC

Houston, has announced two executive appointments recently. Wood Group ESP has appointed Brian Sevin as vice-president of Latin American operations. Sevin has 25 years of experience in the artificial lift industry, 15 of those with Wood Group ESP. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas Tech University.

Wood Group Pressure Control has appointed Ian Milne as vice-president of engineering, following the retirement of Henry Lang. Milne's experience spans nearly 25 years, and includes positions with Dril-Quip, Plexus OceanSystems, Ingram Cactus, Cameron, UWG Ltd., and Grant Prideco.
